The twins are 91 month old today. We went out to lunch with grandma Chui. We called Rachael's mom for the kids to go to the park after lunch. Mommy just said "I'm not going!" and headed to the bed for a nap. Joanne took her bike, Jasmine took her scooter and daddy took the rollerblades. We rode around the park looking for Rachael, stopped in the playground, rode around etc. We went several rounds but we found no sight of Rachael. The twins played with their cyber pets on neopets.com when they came home.
We went out for dinner. We asked the twins which restaurant they liked. Joanne said anyone was fine as long as it was Chinese. Jasmine said she did not like Mexican restaurant. Joanne said Italian was good too because she liked Pasta Pomodoro. We had a nice Chinese meal for dinner.
When we came home, we sent the twins to the shower and the piano. They alternated their turns.
For bedtime story, we started a new chapter. Joanne asked when we would reach the mid point of the book. Jasmine said in August. Daddy said by August, we should be about two third through the book.
Monday, Mar 7, 2005 (7y+7m+1d)
The twins went to school as usual. They said that Rachael was sick and didn't go to school. They couldn't tell if Rachael failed to come to the park yesterday because she was sick then. The twins did their homework in the afternoon. But mommy said the twins were chatting to each other when she cleaned up the garage. They were also chatting when she cleaned up the backyard. Joanne again took a long time to finish her homework. Jasmine finished much earlier and she helped Joanne feed her neopet at neopets.com. They didn't finished homework and piano practice until 10pm. Mommy decided that they would not have any bedtime story today.
Jasmine came downstairs after 15 minutes into their beds. She told daddy that Joanne was sobbing because she lost Bearemey, her bear. Daddy went to the garage and found her bear in the car. Joanne was forgetful and she was also too lazy to look for anything.
Joanne declared today that the restaurant we went to yesterday was her latest favorite restaurant. She told daddy that we would return to that restaurant soon. She might turn into a food critic somedays.

The twins went to school as usual. They played Twister with Annette today. The twins had music lesson in the afternoon. They had finished a session of writing class. There was not much progress so mommy decided not to sign up for the next session. We resumed bedtime story today because they were sent to bed before 9pm.

The twins went to school as usual. They had piano class in the afternoon.
Thursday, Mar 10, 2005 (7y+7m+4d)
The twins went to school as usual. It was a hot day today in the mid 70s. They took a tennis lesson in the afternoon.
Friday, Mar 11, 2005 (7y+7m+5d)
The twins went to school as usual. It was a record breaking hot day today in the 80s. It was summer came early in spring. Mommy had breakfast with Shirley, Sean's mom. Mommy went to lunch with Jenny and another Shirley. Several classmates came to our home to play in the afternoon. The hot weather today was perfect for playing in the backyard. Terence was dropped off with us for the day. He was very excited to stay over with the twins tonight.Daddy met the family and Terence at Pasta Pomodoro after work. Terence ordered ravaoli because they were shown as squares on the kid's menu. When the order arrived, Terence refused to eat them because they were not square. I forced him to eat his "round" ravaoli because he ordered the plate. I thought it was important for kids to learn the consequence from their own actions. He ate half a ravaoli then we all shared his unwanted plate. He got half the spaghetti from Jasmine's plate. Terence later told his mom that he had the best dinner he'd ever had.
Terence didn't want to sleep on the air mattress in our room. He wanted to sleep in his sleeping bag inside the twins' bedroom. We continued our bedtime story on the Journey to the West. The segment tonight was about the Pig Monster being captured by the silver horn monster. The story might be quite scary to Terence because every other sentence was about monsters. Terence didn't have much reaction, I guess he didn't pay too much attention to the story.
Saturday, Mar 12, 2005 (7y+7m+6d)
The unseasonally hot days were gone. We had a gray overcast cool day. Terence's parents came to pick him up. We went out together for brunch. We then went to Villa Montalvo to watch a musical play "The Little Mermaid".After the play, we took a tour of the garden in the villa. There were some sculptures displayed in the garden. One of them was rock and a tree trunk made of steel. The kids played around and on the sculpture. Terence tossed his favorite stuft animal into the air. As he tossed it higher and higher, it dropped right into the hollow trunk of the metallic tree. We could see it through the tiny holes on the side of the sculpture but we could not reach it. When we explained to Terence that no one could get this green puppy out, he continued to demand it. When we started walking away and suggested him to say goodbye to green puppy, he wailed and screamed emotionally. He said heart brokenly, "I took good care of him. I love him and I want him back." Even when his mommy offered to buy him another one, he couldn't stop crying. The atmosphere was pretty much like a funeral. We couldn't do anything about his heart felt grief because his toy was beyond our reach. On the way home, he seemed to have forgotten the whole thing. But his parents knew when he looked for his bed-mate everynight from now on, he would remember what he did to his loved one.
Jasmine requested to have dinner at Todai Seafood Buffet. No one had objection, so we went. Everyone enjoyed the dinner. The twins were old enough to fetch their own food. They ate whatever they wanted to in the buffet. The only thing they were not allowed to have was soda because any sweet drink during dinner kills their appetite. Water worked fine and they ate a lot including frozen yogurt and jello at the end. They showed Terence how to rub a balloon in the hair to get static electricity and stand-up hair. Terence had great fun with his balloon and everyone's hair at the table.
We came home to play some Tien Gow domino game. Terence watched Aladdin on DVD. The twins played their games on the Internet. They were addicted to the Neopets game recently. They had to feed and take care of their cyber pets everyday. Jasmine's pet had pox recently and she worked hard to take care of it until it recovered.
It was late when we went to bed. The twins requested bedtime story. Joanne acted dramatically. She knelt down and bowed to beg for the story. Daddy read a few lines and they were happy.
Sunday, Mar 13, 2005 (7y+7m+7d)
The twins were 7 year, 7 month and 7 day old. Mommy got up early and went to her tennis class in the morning. The twins were asked last night if they wanted to come to the park to see mommy play tennis. They requested not to be bothered in the morning because they preferred to stay in bed. They were also very considerate. When they got up in the morning, they went downstairs to find something to eat on their own. They didn't bother daddy's sleep until mommy came home after noon.We went to Oakland in the afternoon. Daddy told the twins that there is a song to go with the music they played recently everyday. The song started with the words "How gentle is the rain..." to the tune of JS Bach's Minuet in G. The twins started singing the song, since they only know the first line, they made up other words on their own. They changed the song to "How gentle is Joanne" and "How gentle is Jasmine". During the 45 minutes drive north, the twins were laughing and giggling at the back. They were playing and telling jokes to each other. Daddy asked the twins that if they were grateful to mommy for giving birth to their best friend. Joanne got Jasmine as her best friend and Jasmine got Joanne as her best friend. Joanne said she was thankful to daddy too. At first I thought they knew something about what birds and bees do. Then Joanne continued to say that daddy and mommy both wished to have twins girls. So when the wish came true, daddy got the credit too. Joanne said mommy was luckier to have two sisters and she only got one.
We first stopped by a restaurant for a late lunch. Then we went to grandma Ling's home. Mommy knew we got nothing to do at grandma's home. So she was well prepared and brought the dominos. We began the game with the twins. We played the game with all the tiles facing up so that they could learn how the game was played. Joanne was not very interested and she didn't pay much attention at all. When great grandma arrived, she replaced Joanne. Daddy still assisted Jasmine in her game. Then cousin Natalie arrived and uncle Ivan popped in a cartoon in the DVD player. Jasmine abandoned the game for cartoon. It took four to play the game, so daddy also played her hand. It turned out that Jasmine's position was the luckiest spot. She was the biggest and only winner at the end of the game.
We left after dinner. On the return trip, the twins asked about their uncoming STAR test in school. We kind of coached them on how to get the best scores by double checking for uncertained answers or pick by eliminating obvious wrong answers etc. After the discussion, they fell asleep for the rest of the trip. We left them in the garage after we arrived home. They kept on sleeping. When mommy finished all the chores for the night, we moved them from the car to their beds. They woke up briefly but got back to sleep after they changed into their pajamas. Of course, they had no bedtime story for the night.
I later search the Internet and found that the song we talked about today is called "A lover's concerto" written by Denny Randell and Sandy Linzert and performed by The Toys in the 1965 and Sarah Vaughan in 1966.
How gentle is the rain
That falls softly on the meadow,
Birds high up the trees
Serenade the clouds with their melodiesOh, see there beyond the hill,
The bright colors of the rainbow.
Some magic from above
Made this day for us just to fall in loveNow, I belong to you
From this day until forever,
Just love me tenderly
And I'll give to you every part of me.Oh, don't ever make me cry
Through long lonely nights without us.
Be always true to me,
Keep this day in your heart eternally. One day we shall return
To this place upon the meadow.
We'll walk out in the rain,
See the birds above singing once againOh, you hold me in your arms,
And say once again you love me,
And if your love is true,
Everything will be just as wonderful. You'll hold me in your arms,
And say once again you'll love me,
And if your love is true,
Everything will be just as wonderful.

The twins went to school as usual. Joanne had a runny nose in the morning. She said she must have caught that from Terence because he coughed in front of her yesterday. However, mommy said Joanne had allergy to the pollens in the air. They had their dentist visit in the afternoon. The dentist said they needed to brush more to keep the stain off their teeth. No cavaity this time. Joanne's front teeth were crooked so we got a referral to an orthodontist.
Recently Jasmine was obsessed with the Neopets websites. She rushed through her homework so that she could spare time to earn Neopoints to buy things and food for her pet. Joanne was a slow poke and procastinator. She hardly had enough time for herself. She asked Jasmine to feed the pet for her. Jasmine even took care of Rachael's pet. Mommy was not very pleased about Jasmine's indulgence.
Tuesday, Mar 15, 2005 (7y+7m+9d)
The twins went to school as usual. The went to music lesson in the afternoon. The twins saw the TV commercial for The Incredibles DVD. They ordered their copy from daddy. Daddy bought a copy from Circuit City at a promotional price of $14.99 which was half of list price for the Collector's edition. They even threw in a free mini basketball with the Incredibles decal.Joanne's runny nose had recovered. Mommy was probably was right because when Joanne was no longer exposed to the allergent, her symptom stopped.
The twins played computer games before they finished homework. When mommy found out, she was mad. She told the twins they could not go to bed until they finished their homework. The time lost on game playing must be made up by their sleep time. The twins finished their work at 11:30pm. Of course they went to bed with no bedtime story tonight.
Wednesday, Mar 16, 2005 (7y+7m+10d)
The twins went to school as usual. They had piano class in the afternoon. They finished their homework early today. Mommy let them play their computer game. Tonight we read about how the silver horn monster trapped the monkey king under three mountains.
Thursday, Mar 17, 2005 (7y+7m+11d)
The twins went to school as usual. On their way to school, Jasmine decided a pair of sandals were not appropriate for playground. She asked mommy to fetch her a pair of sneakers from home. Mommy told her no way she would do a round trip for her shoes. Jasmine said her "favorite daddy" would deliver for her. And he did on his way to work.Nothing special in the afternoon, they just did homework and practiced piano. Daddy went to a reunion dinner with some ex-coworkers from 15 years ago. The twins didn't miss daddy a bit. They were busy playing on the Internet when daddy came home. Obviously they finished homework early today. For bedtime story, we read about how the monkey king summoned the three mountain gods. The mountain gods lifted the mountains as soon as they found out who was trapped.
Friday, Mar 18, 2005 (7y+7m+12d)
The twins went to school as usual. It was a rainy day from morning till night. Nothing special happened today. The twins again were playing with their neopets on the Internet when daddy came home. In bedtime story, we read about the monkey king tricking the magical weapons from the monsters. Jasmine raised her hand and asked, "are we done yet? I'm tored." Of course the story was cut short.
Saturday, Mar 19, 2005 (7y+7m+13d)
We went out to lunch with grandma Chui and aunt Elaine. The twins wanted to go to Costco after lunch. Grandma went with us. The twins wanted to buy a paper punch last time they were in a stationary store. Daddy told them that it was too costly. $9.00 is too much compared to those sold in Costco. The twins had been planning their trip to Costco ever since. The package at Costco contained 40 punches at $40. Thought it was only $1 a piece, $40 was still too much. Again daddy told the twins we would not buy that. They were really disappointed. After we dropped off grandma, we continued with the search. We went to OfficeMax and found two punches that they liked. They were about $5 a piece.
Sunday, Mar 20, 2005 (7y+7m+14d)
We had lunch with cousin Natalie and family. Uncle Ivan treated us a nice Italian lunch. After lunch we called the bowling alley and they told us all the lanes were booked until 4:30. We spent the next few hours in the shopping mall. The twins were happy because they could buy accessories for their bears. Joanne bought a cellphone and a new dress for Bearemy. Jasmine bought a pair of roller skates and a helmet for Fluffy. When it was time, we went to the bowling alley. We had to wait for our lanes like last time. Joanne was well prepared this time, she brought her own money to play games in the game room. Jasmine complained that all her bills were $2 and the token machine only tool $1 bills. They earned some tickets to exchange for some goodies and small toys. Jasmine ordered a princess crown and used up all the points. Joanne cried in desperation because she paid for the games and she didn't get anything out of the tickets. Jasmine gave the crown to Joanne, but Joanne didn't want it. Jasmine kind of felt sorry for what she did. She couldn't stop Joanne from crying. Daddy asked Jasmine to return the crown so that Joanne could get something else. They then spent the 200 points on a bunch of useless little toys. We bowled one game. Unlike last time, Jasmine didn't get good score. She was last behind cousin Natalie. We treated Natalie's family to dinner in a Japanese restaurant before we went home.
Daddy started with some flu symptoms in the evening and went to bed early. The twins were okay to skip bedtime story.
Monday, Mar 21, 2005 (7y+7m+15d)
The twins went to school as usual. Daddy came home early sick with a flu. Daddy stayed in bed all afternoon. Jasmine also complained not feeling well in the afternoon. Mommy sent both kids to their beds. We woke them up at dinner time. They did their homework and practiced piano after dinner. They went to bed later than usual because of their long nap in the afternoon. They still got a short bedtime reading for the night.
Tuesday, Mar 22, 2005 (7y+7m+16d)
The twins went to school as usual. They had piano lesson in the afternoon. They went out to dinner with mommy before coming home. Daddy settled with some leftover as dinner. The twins were fighting physically when they came home. They were hitting each other over something. Both were tough fighters, no one cried.
We opened the Kingdom Hearts games on the Playstation 2. Jasmine was hogging over the game. Joanne had to grab and hit to take control of the game. They were sent to bed not long after.
In bedtime story, we were still reading about how the Monkey King dealt with the gold and silver horned monster. The story mention the Monkey King's tiger skin skirt. The twins wanted to see the illustration again to see how the skirt looked like. Again, the twins were hitting each other to grab the book. When Joanne got the book in her hand, the bookmark fell off. She panicked and said, "Do you know which page we were at?" Daddy replied jokingly "No, we had to start over from the beginning!" Everyone knew it took months for us to reach the current point of the story. Joanne had a helpless look on her face. Daddy couldn't hold the laughs because Joanne's expression was really funny when she took daddy's joke seriously. When daddy was still giggling, tears rolled down Joanne's face. She was hurt when her gullability was laughed at. Since Joanne was an easy going girl, an apology should easily fix things up with her.
Wednesday, Mar 23, 2005 (7y+7m+17d)
They went to school as usual. They had piano class in the afternoon. Joanne requested to have dinner at her favorite restaurant Hong Fu Gourmet. Perhaps the chief Chef didn't come to work today. Every dish tasted so so if not terrible. Even Joanne didn't praise the food either. Mommy and Daddy told Joanne we are not coming back at least not during weekdays.
Thursday, Mar 24, 2005 (7y+7m+18d)
The twins went to school as usual. Mommy took the twins to tennis class in the afternoon. She practiced with the twins afterwards. Mommy complained about aching muscle in the evening. Including the tennis session she had in the morning, mommy played 4 hours of tennis today. When daddy came home from work, Jasmine was playing the Kingdom Hearts game on the Playstation 2. She was scolded when mommy found out she was playing game instead of practicing piano.
Friday, Mar 25, 2005 (7y+7m+19d)
The twins went to school as usual. In the afternoon, mommy took them to Artopia for an ceramic project. They went with Claire, Rachael and Annette. Mommy got some free session coupon for the projects. They had to pay for the ceramic figurine though. The twins said they colored a Easter bunny each. The kids came to our house after the art project.Mommy and twins took a ride with Annette family. Daddy rendezvoused with them at Annette's family for dinner. The kids played treasure hunt with Jasmine's fluffy bear after dinner. One kid would hind fluffy somewhere in the house and the other kids would look for her. The adults watched TV. We went home after 9pm.
The twins told daddy the story of Good Friday and Easter. By US laws on separation of church and state, government and religion is not allowed to mix. I was surprised that the public school teachers were allowed to teach religion. I thought that they were only allow to teach about Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.
Saturday, Mar 26, 2005 (7y+7m+20d)
Mommy had a tennis class in the morning. She dragged the whole family out of bed. The twins brought their bicycles to ride in the school yard next to the tennis court. They also brought the mini basketball that came with the Incredibles DVD. The twins tried over 30 times each shooting the hoop. None got in the basket. Joanne barely made the height, but the aimings were all off. Jasmine didn't throw the ball high enough at all. They played in the playground for awhile. Then they played on the two sides of a concrete wall. The wall was about 10 feet tall, they got good exercise throw the ball over it. A stranger girl joined them in the play too.We went out to lunch and they ate a lot due to the good exercise. Mommy didn't get enough tennis. The twins were enthusiastic to play tennis with daddy and mommy. After one of the court freed up, the twins occupied the vacant court and played on their own. Initially, they were playing tennis, then later, they just throw tennis balls at each other over the net. They had great fun and were laughing hysterically.
The twins cheered when mommy said we would have ramen for dinner. They tried a Japanese restaurant serving "Chuka Soba", a special kind of ramen, sometime ago. They wanted daddy to try it too. We went bowling after dinner. The twins took out the wallet planning to play games in the gameroom to win tickets. Mommy told them they were not allowed to waste money in such manner because they spent several dollars to get the tickets but the toys they exchanged with the tickets were all junks. They were lectured by daddy too because what they did was like buying junks with cash. The twins were disappointed but they still want to bowl. Joanne only got 58 and Jasmine got 67. The scores would be much lower if there weren't the bumpers blocking the gutter.
Sunday, Mar 27, 2005 (7y+7m+21d)
The twins got up early to play games on the Internet. Mommy thought they spent too much time on those games this week. She switched off the power to the modem. The twins could only do homework and practiced piano. We went to Terence's home for lunch. They had a Easter party at their home yesterday with Terence classmates. They had some pasta leftover. We helped them consume the surplus. We left in the afternoon. We initially wanted to go shopping at Costco. The twins said they wanted to look for Easter stuffs. We were all disappointed when we found Costco closed for Easter.
Before we went home, we picked up some freshly made Gyoza from a Japanese restaurant. At home, mommy fried the Gyoza like Chinese pot stickers. Yummy!
We continued the bedtime story on the Journey to the West everynight. We reached the end of a chapter today. The monkey king took care of the gold and silver horn monster.
Monday, Mar 28, 2005 (7y+7m+22d)
The twins went to school as usual. Jasmine told daddy that she have adopted an additional neopets. She said she would be able to take care of two. Joanne said she would stay with one only. For bedtime story, we started a new chapter on the Journey to the West. We read about the monkey king being framed by a monster. He was forbidden by his own master.
Tuesday, Mar 29, 2005 (7y+7m+23d)
The twins went to school as usual. They had piano lesson in the afternoon. The twins did their Chinese dictation after dinner. Their penmanship were so sloppy that daddy used a red pen to mark all the strokes that didn't look like Chinese. I picked out all the badly written text and forced them to do them over again. Joanne made an effort and all her new writings were acceptable. Jasmine did them exactly as before. It was unsure if she did that in defiance. For bedtime story, we read about a monster kidnapped the Tang monk after the monkey king was sent home.
Wednesday, Mar 30, 2005 (7y+7m+24d)
The twins went to school as usual. They had piano group class in the afternoon. The piano teacher talked to mommy after class. She said that Joanne was the best in the class. She said Joanne was "gifted" because she played the music in her own way. Jasmine and other classmates were okay in terms of skills, they were good followers but they were too rigid without creativity. This news came as a surprise to us because we always thought Jasmine played the piano better than Joanne. Jasmine picked up the sheet music and played well in a few trials. Joanne usually practiced many times before she could play well. Of course, we would trust the professional's assessment because we didn't know what attributes were relevant. We had ramen for dinner again. After dinner, the twins practiced their Chinese dictation again. Joanne's penmanship had drastically improved. Her handwriting was square, well lined up and neat. Looked like she really took daddy's critique from last night and totally changed her handwriting. On the other hand, Jasmine didn't change a bit. Her handwriting was just as sloppy as before.
Jasmine said she accidently adopted another neopet. The neopet was already sick when it arrived. Daddy told her that three pets were too many. Daddy suggested her to leave it alone and perhaps let it die naturally of its sickness.
Mommy told the twins they wouldn't have bedtime story because they took too long to finish their work. When daddy came upstairs to kiss them goodnight, the twins said they read bedtime story on their own already.
Thursday, Mar 31, 2005 (7y+7m+25d)
The twins went to school as usual. The twins played games and made mommy very mad at them. They were not in bed until 10:30pm that made mommy even madder. Mommy locked all the doors and told them they didn't need to sleep. Jasmine whipser to daddy "Can you go upstairs with me?" They asked for bedtime story despite the late hours. Daddy read about 3 lines and let them sleep.
Friday, Apr 1, 2005 (7y+7m+26d)
The twins went to school as usual. Jasmine called daddy in the afternoon. She said, "Daddy, I don't like your bedtime story!" Daddy said, "What?" She said, "April fool!" She said she tricked Joanne and mommy too and she wanted to trick her classmates but didn't.In the evening, we went to a Buddhist charity fundraising concert with Claire's family. Jasmine fell asleep through most of it. Joanne and Claire were fine. Daddy carried Jasmine to the car and woke her when we arrived home. We sent them to bed with no bedtime story tonight.
Saturday, Apr 2, 2005 (7y+7m+27d)
Mommy went to her tennis lesson in the morning. The twins and daddy stayed home. They practiced piano and played Gran Turismo 4 on Playstation2. Joanne asked if she could get a Gameboy for her birthday because Rachael also had one. Daddy said no. Joanne called mommy on the phone for the same question. Mommy said she was not ready for a Gameboy. Joanne asked daddy when she would be ready for a Gameboy. Daddy answered 18 years old because she would be adult to decide for herself. We later explained that they were spending too much time on Internet and Playstation games already. Mommy said she preferred them to do drawing, coloring and reading on the road instead of playing games. We went to lunch at the Left Bank restaurant in Santana Row. We walked around for some window shopping after lunch. The twins wanted to visit the Borders bookstore. They stayed there for an hour reading childrens books. Mommy also bought them some waterproof Ecco sandals for the upcoming summer. We went home and mommy prepared pot stickers for dinner.
Sunday, Apr 3, 2005 (7y+7m+28d)
The time changed to summer daylight saving. We had one less hour to sleep this morning.Mommy went to watch her tennis team's competition. Daddy and twins went to lunch with grandma Chui and Aunt Elaine. Aunt Elaine bought us lunch. We went to grandma's house after lunch. We had some fruits and snacks before returning home. Mommy was waiting for us at home. We played Mahjongg with the twins. Mommy won 3 games, Jasmine won 2 and daddy won one. Joanne lost interest because she didn't win a game after six rounds. We stopped the game and the twins went back to play games on the Internet, mommy and daddy played backgammon. The weather was fine in the morning, it started to pour in the evening.
We went out for dinner at a Japanese restaurant. Jasmine ordered a kid's meal. Joanne ordered a Nabeyaki Udon which cost the most among all our orders. The twins had very good appetite recently. Jasmine's kid's meal was not enough. Joanne shared hers with Jasmine. The twins fell asleep in the car on the way home.
We woke them to have them wash up before bed. They went straight to the computer instead. Mommy was not happy because the twins didn't practice piano today.
When we were reading bedtime story, mommy came in to ask if anyone see our vehicle registration sticker. The sticker disappeared from the registration statement we received from DMV. We'd paid $200 for the registration, but if the sticker was missing, we don't know if our car would be allowed on the road. Both twins said they knew nothing about it. Daddy asked if Joanne took it into her sticker collection. Jasmine jumped off bed to fetch Joanne's sticker album/folder for daddy to inspect. They asked a lot of questions. They asked why a sticker would cost so much money. They asked if it would still be useful if it didn't stick anymore. Daddy continued to explain how important and costly the sticker was. Joanne interrupted and asked if we could continue our bedtime story. After we finished, I went downstairs to mommy. I told mommy that Joanne seemed to know something because she looked nervous when we talked about the sticker. Mommy went upstairs and asked Joanne to find the sticker for her. Joanne asked whether she would get a kiss if she could find it. Mommy said yes, knowing that Joanne might not reveal her secret otherwise. Not more than 30 seconds after mommy came downstairs, the twins ran downstairs with the sticker. Joanne found it in the bathroom drawer. Joanne got her kiss and returned to her room. Jasmine stayed behind to spill the beans. She said Joanne peeled off the sticker and played with it as a ticket because it didn't stick anymore. Both of them knew where the sticker was while daddy talked about how important it was for 15 minutes. Joanne didn't say a thing until she knew she would not be punished. Jasmine didn't say a thing because she tried to protect Joanne. We knew it would be common for teenagers to hide things from their parents. But these two kids already kept secrets from us at age seven.
Monday, Apr 4, 2005 (7y+7m+29d)
The twins went to school as usual. On the way to school, mommy gave a lecture to the twins about not telling where the sticker was as soon as mommy asked for it. The twins didn't make a sound. They did homework and practiced piano in the afternoon. At the dinner table, daddy confronted Joanne about what she did yesterday. I asked her why did she take so long to return the sticker to mommy because obviously knew where it was. Mommy gave her a multiple choice answer.
A. She remembered that she took the sticker but she needed to recall where she put it.
B. She knew where it was but was scared that mommy and daddy would be mad at her.
C. She forgot that she took the sticker at the time, but remembered later.
D. none of the above.Joanne whispered B. We explained to her it was nice to hide the truth.
After they finished their Chinese dictation exercise, both twins went to the computer despice mommy disallowed them to play on the computer on weekdays. Mommy had to yelled at time before they ran upstairs to get ready for bed. It was almost 10pm when they are ready for the bedtime story. We read a few paragraphs and stopped. Jasmine wanted more. Daddy told them if they wanted longer bedtime story, they need to get in bed earlier. Jasmine joked that she wanted to start bedtime story at 7pm.
Tuesday, Apr 5, 2005 (7y+7m+30d)
The twins went to school as usual. Joanne enjoyed her PE class at school. They got a lot of homework assignment yesterday. After school, they did some chalk drawings on the driveway outside of the house. They had piano lesson in the afternoon.
