The twins are 99 month old today. The handy continued his work. He didn't show up until the afternoon. Daddy decided to stay home to monitor the repair work. Mommy decided not to go anywhere either. The twins asked where they would go today. Daddy asked them to make a suggestion to mommy. They didn't. We ended up staying home all day long. The twins played their Neopet game in the afternoon. Joanne won the game when she won 5000 Neopoint in one of the mini-games. Then they spent the rest of the day watching TV and playing games on the Disney.com website.
Before they went to bed, they requested a height check because it was the 6th of the month. Daddy reminded them that today is their 99th months birthday. They had their 3000th day birthday not long ago so they were not too excited about this kind of birthdays. The twins grew about a quarter inch since last measurement on Oct 17.

The kids requested to stay after dinner to play awhile before leaving. They spent the afternoon doing homework and practicing piano and they didn't got a chance to play at all. Daddy stayed and watch TV so that the kids could play for couple hours. Mommy returned victorious. She and her teammate won the match after a tie-breaker. She came to Annette's house for dinner before we all left together.
The twins took a shower before going to bed.

His birthday party was to invite his friends to watch "Chicken Little" in the theater. The show was sold out. Though they purchased the tickets in advance, they arrived late and all of them must sit on the first row. The twins said it wasn't too bad to sit up front. The movie was just big.
In the evening, we went to a dinner party at Christopher's home. We had hot pot for dinner. We stayed to sing some Karaoke before cutting the birthday cake.

The twins went to school as usual. Daddy had to work overtime and went to work before the kids left for school. At bedtime, mommy noticed Joanne's loose tooth was tangling. The teeth was loose for quite some time already. She reached in and wriggled it a bit and it fell off. It was her upper lateral incisor on her right side (tooth D on the dental chart).

The twins went to school as usual. The twins had piano class in the afternoon. The twins borrowed a few more Star Wars novel from the library. Daddy told the twins that the iMac G5 that we ordered had been shipped from the factory. It is expected to arrive soon. The twins asked if they could take the laptop PC. They had their iMac G3 for a few years now, but they now found it too slow. When they compare the 2.1GHz new G5 with their 400MHz G3, they would feel the difference.

The twins went to school as usual. Daddy had to work overtime. When daddy came home at 9pm, Jasmine was finishing up homework. Joanne was already snoring in bed. Mommy didn't even know Joanne went to bed early. The twins usually would know when to rest when they get tired. When Jasmine went to bed, she said she couldn't fall asleep because Joanne's snoring was too loud. Unlike Joanne, Jasmine seldom snore.
Friday, Nov 18, 2005 (8y+3m+12d)
It turned out that the reason why Joanne went to bed early was because she didn't feel well. Mommy checked Joanne's temperature in the morning, she was at 100°F. She stayed home to rest. Mommy dropped off Jasmine at school as usual. Mommy came home to take care of Joanne before daddy left for work. Joanne slept most of the day and she recovered before dinner time. The iMac G5 arrived today. Daddy opened the box and Jasmine was eager to help. Daddy let her plug in the cables, turn it on and went through the software configuration process. The computer was up in no time with little help from daddy. Apple computer was so easy to use that even an 8 years old can set it up and use it.

Mommy went to play tennis with her team. Daddy took the twins to lunch with grandma Chui and aunt Elaine. We returned home in the afternoon and stayed home for the rest of the day. The twins told mommy that daddy didn't make his bed in the morning. These girls really demanded good examples from the adults. The twins worked on their homework and practiced piano. Daddy climbed up the roof to fix the Christmas lights until dusk. We bought take out food but ate dinner at home. Before the twins went to bed, daddy asked if they wanted to watch "Chicken Little" again in 3-D. The first available show would be at 10:35am. Jasmine was so enthusiastic that she said she would set the alarm clock at 8am.
Sunday, Nov 20, 2005 (8y+3m+14d)
Jasmine ran into our room at 10:30am. She was upset because she thought she missed the show. She said she set the alarm clock at the right time, but she forgot the switch it on. Daddy calmed her down because the next show would be at 11:45am. We all rushed to get ready. Mommy prepared a quick breakfast. We were out the door at 11:10am. The movie was fun especially in 3-D. This was the first time Disney Digital 3D technology used on a feature film. Only 85 theaters around the US were equipped to show the movie in 3D. There was only one such theater in the bay area. The twins said it was much better than the 2-D version they watched last Friday. We returned home for lunch after the movie.Mommy took the twins to Claire's birthday party at 3:30pm. Daddy climbed up the roof to finish the repair work on the Christmas lights. We recorded the second half of the tennis match between Roger Federer and David Nalbandian. Daddy later joined the family at the birthday party. Among other guests were Terence and Valerie. The kids had fun with art and crafts before the show. The entertainment was provided by a group of colorful parrots. We stayed after the party to help the host clean up the place. We were home before 8pm. Daddy and mommy replayed the tennis match that we missed earlier. It was a great tennis where the underdog Nalbandian beat the number one player.
After taking shower, Joanne was limping around. She said her left leg started to hurt after the movie. Daddy gave her a massage to correct any misalignment and helped to improve her circulation. She said she'd rather not take the massage because she couldn't stand the pain. At bedtime, Joanne put her kisses on Jasmine hand and Jasmine delivered the goodnight kisses downstairs to daddy and mommy.

The twins went to the game room to play games, they earned close to a thousand tickets to exchange for many junk toys. We packed up and checked out from the hotel in the morning. We went to Las Vegas Chinatown on Spring Mountain Rd. for lunch. We then went to Las Vegas Premium Outlets for shopping. Mommy and twins went shopping and daddy circled around the parking lot for more than 2 hours before getting a parking space. Actually all the spaces were taken, all cars just stopped in the middle of the parking lot to wait for other cars to pull out. After two hours wait, when daddy joined the family, they were carrying many bags. There were big sales everywhere on the day after Thanksgiving. In most shoes stores, the first pair was at outlet price, all additional pairs were at half outlet price. We stocked up on shoes, we got 2 pairs per member of the family. The twins asked mommy if we would leave soon because it was getting dark. We continued to shop until 4:30pm.We left Las Vegas at 4:30pm. When we got on the highway, the sky was already dark. We let the twins take a nap first. Then they wanted to watch DVD in the car. We were driving very fast as conditions allowed. We were above 80-85mph most of the time and slowed down when the road became foggy. We arrived home before 1 am in the morning. The twins went to bed after brushing their teeth.

The machine was atypically slow and after some diagnostics, it reports fatal hardware errors from the hard disk. It was quite disappointing to get a computer dead on arrival.Mommy called a tow truck to take the car to the shop for repair. Most of the coolant was lost due to a leak.

We stayed in the party until midnight.

We went to grandma Chui's place for lunch. She wrapped some Wonton and served them with noodles. In the afternoon, we went to Oakridge Mall. Aunt Michelle and uncle Ronnie were not very interested in the movies, so we cancelled the movie plan. We did window shopping until 6pm. Then we had a family style Italian dinner at the Buca di Beppo restaurant. Uncle Ronnie and aunt Michelle would return to Hong Kong the next day, so we all returned home early. For some reason, we were all exhausted from the shopping trip. We went to bed early like at 8:30pm.
Monday, Dec 5, 2005 (8y+3m+29d)
The twins woke us up in the morning. For sometime now, they had their own responsibility to set their alarm clock at night and to get up in the morning before daddy and mommy did. The twins said that mommy was kind of slow today and as a result, they needed to get a late pass to enter the classroom. They made sure daddy know who was at fault when daddy came home in the evening. Mommy drove uncle Ronnie and aunt Michelle to the airport after dropping the kids at school. Our iMac G5 was in store for repair. It returned today after one week in the shop waiting for the part. Since the repair replaced the hard disk, we had to set up everything again from scratch. Jasmine was enthusiastic in helping daddy setup the computer and accounts. Unfortunately, the repair didn't correct the hard disk problem. We had to schedule another repair. It may take at least another week before we could use the computer. Instead of an Apple, we bought a lemon computer.
