When Tobias was asked if he had ostalgy for "Rex"-times he answered: "Four years beside a dog - even if it is as smart as Rex-Reginald - is enough. I don`t have anything against the dogs, but it`s boring to be their fifth paw. Besides the work in TV series is very hard. There were days where my menu consisted of an apple and 2 packs of smokes. And when I was corting my future wife and at nights dirrectly speacing I felt wary on her, then after my visits she had to clean all her appartement from dogs hairs. It`s still unknown to me how she agreed to marry me." Tobias chased criminals on Viennas streets for 4 years with his faithfull companion Rex, but then decided to quit. He chose a long time ago that he will play Richard Moser only for 2 seasons. Finally he was ready to play in third season and in 2 hour final. "For me it was important that my leaving would be smooth. The press suspected that behind my leaving was somekind comertial trick or I wanted larger salary." When they filmed "Rex", Tobias`s and his wifes relationship fell under the jeoparty, but luckily it was built on trust.
Tobias was playing mostly in theatres but when he exepted part of police officer Richard Moser in Ko-missar Rex (Kommissar Rex) he became famous in over 50 countries and have won several awards. Ric-hard - or Richie as he was called by friends and close partners - had a partner - Rex, wonder police dog, who could trace anything or anyone from anywhere. In 3rd season Richard Moser dies of a bullet and command will be taken over by komissar Alexander Brandter (played by Gedeon Burkhard).
Tobias playes piano, drums, organ and clarionet. He loves going up to mountains, skiing, racing on motocycles and cars.
After debut in "Rex" Tobias made a debute in larger screen in blockbusting comedy "Workaholic" (1996). Other roles: "The heart is youg again" (1997), "Ombre" (1997), "Mia, always mine" (1998). Tobias has got the offers even from Hollywood.
Moretti enjoyes oppertunity to try different and exacting parts. What can be more exiting than engross in your caracter and make it live? "I enjoy life. The magic of proffession of an actor is stands in this that we can throw ourselves in new place and new time. Acting is like time-travelling."
What concerns the dogs then Tobias has also German shepperd Pico. Their relatonship wasn`t the best in time of shooting "Kommissar Rex". But as soon as Tobias left the TV series and didn`t come home with the smell of strange dog relationship improved.
Since 1999 has his own production company. He is diplomed farmer.
