The Community Trust Fund (CTF) is a
charitable organization which implements
and co-ordinates community-based development projects and
activities
in Sri Lanka. It works with IDPS in Sri Lanka (Internally Displaced
People), ethnic/religious minority
communities, and economically disadvantaged groups affected by the
twenty year conflict.
Our Mission
|
Voices
the grievances of all human beings irrespective of cast,
religion, ethnicity and nationality and creates opportunities
for the development of affected and underprivileged people. |
Our Vision |
Community Trust
Fund strives towards the realization of a society in which
justice, equality and human rights are respected and people
lead a peaceful life in spite of various differences. |
The
Beginning |
CTF was established in 1993 by
a small group of people, local and displaced, who were
increasingly concerned about the unmet needs and difficulties
facing those who were displaced from Northern Sri Lanka during the 1990s. As a
response to these people who were receiving little state
assistance, CTF was created and so began to implement social
welfare programmes within IDP camps, social welfare centres and
local villages.
|
Our
Work |
CTF implements projects and activities through its field bureaus based in
the communities. CTF
actively works with community members, Community Based
Organizations, (CBOs), village leaders, and women's groups to
carry out such work. In addition, it also provides a
grassroots level advisory service through its Women's Forum and
the Citizens Committee
for Forcibly Evicted People (CCFEP). It works primarily in the districts of
Northern and North West Sri Lanka. Follow the link to read
