This beautiful waterfall has a unbroken drop of 90ft. It is not as grand as Niagra,but just as beautiful.
It is in a deep wooded gorge,and can only be reached by walking down a steep footpath.
At the bottom of the gorge,a footbridge crosses the River Nant Llech which takes you closer to the falls.
It is possible to walk behind the falls but it can be dangerous.
The falls are located near the small village of Coelbren, which is on the A4221 between Glyneath & Abercrave. Drive through the Village, and on reaching a T junction cross over the river bridge and a short distance further is the free car park at the top of the foot path leading to the falls.
From the M4 Jct 45 follow signs to Pontardawe/ Brecon,and Dan-Yr-Ogof caves, look out for signs to Coelbren, and Henryd falls.
Coelbren can also be reached from Jct 43 on the M4 via A465 , A4109, onto A4221.
It is best not to visit after a dry spell as the falls are not so spectacular. |
