Goytre Wharf
Goytre wharf on the Brecon & Monmouth canal is a picturesque 8 acre site popular for mooring of pleasure boats.
The canal dates back to the end of the 18th century as a vital link for the industrial developement of the area.
It now makes an ideal venue for a day out, for picnics, nature rambles, amid beautiful surroundings.
Visitors can walk for miles along
the canal bank walking under bridges or across the aqueduct.
The wharf has a visitor centre which provides information for the area, and refreshments.
The centre also houses a tramroad exhibition, art gallery, and souvenir shop.
Boats can be hired for the day or weekly from Red Line Boats who are
based at the wharf.
