Between Carmarthen and Cardigan on the A484 is the pretty little village of Cenarth situated on the banks of the River Teifi.The village is famous for the "falls" which isn't really a waterfall as we know it, but a spectacular cascade of water over rocks and boulders.
The best time to visit Cenarth is after a heavy fall of rain, then the sight is really something.
On the bank of the river is a 17th century mill complete with waterwheel which is open to the public 10:30~5:30 Easter until end of October. The mill was last used commercially in 1964. Behind the mill is a nature trail and riverside walk.
There is also The National Coracle centre where you can learn all about this river "boat" and the ancient art of making a coracle. The centre has a gift shop selling souvenirs, etc. There is access for the disabled, Dogs are welcome, and there are tea rooms nearby.
Cenarth is also famed for the salmon leap and the 200yr old bridge pictured left.
There are two local inns The White Hart and The Three Horseshoes, I have had a few drinks in the Three Horseshoes and you will find a friendly welcome there. There is also a tea room at the mill. There is a good car park on the river side with a small charge.
