Rhayader |
Rhayader- Welsh for 'Waterfall on the Wye' is situated in the heart of Mid Wales. It is a busy livestock market town with a population of about 2,000. It is surrounded on all sides with wooded valleys, mountain streams, and waterfalls. It is the gateway town to the dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen valleys, with their ancient oak woods rich in bird and wild life. Rhayader is an ideal centre from which to explore the surrounding countryside by car, bicycle, or on foot. Rhayader has a range of accommodation from the Wyeside camping park to 16th century pubs, B+Bs or a country house hotel. Parking in the town is very good. There is a large car park next to the modern leisure centre. |
The 16th Triangle Inn |
