Yes, in on the 18th May 2006 Channel 4 Televison broadcast a one-off 75 minute reunion Documentary entitled "Bring Back... The A-Team" in which presenter Justin Lee Collins atempts to track down and reunite the stars of hit 1980s television show. He successfully brought together Dwight Schultz ("Howling Mad" Murdock), Dirk Benedict (Templeton "Faceman" Peck), Jack Ging (General "Bull" Fulbright), Marla Heasley (Tawnia Baker), Stephen J. Cannell (A-Team Creator) and George Peppards son Christian in one room for the first time in nearly 20 years. He also tracked down Mr. T. (B.A Baracus) for an interview but he was unale to make the reunion its self.
As for a feature lenght film the idea has been in development since the mid 1990s, going through a number of writers and story ideas, and being put on hold a number of times, according to "Variety" Universal Pictures planned to release a big-budget version of the action-comedy show for summer 1998 co-wrote by Richard Hatem with an initial budget $250,000.
Then in October 2004 after all the years of rumours and speculation it was officially announced that the A-Team would be remade for the big screen and placed in a contemporary setting with James Bond's Bruce Feirstein writing the film version which will be co-produce by A-Team creator Stephan J. Cannell and released under 20th Century Fox for summer 2007.
Producer Stephen J. Cannell hopes to update the setting, perhaps using the first Gulf War as part of the backstory. The cast has not yet been revealed, though director John Singleton whose past credits include Boyz 'n' the Hood, Shaft and 2 Fast 2 Furious, hoped Woody Harrelson will take on the role of Murdock, while Ice Cube has expressed interest in the role of B.A. Baracus. It also has been rumored that Bruce Willis is being considered for the role of John "Hannibal" Smith. However, as of 27th October 2008, Singleton has pulled out and the film is now planned for release in 2010.
On another note The "Dark Horizons" Internet site reported in April 2007 that NBC would be bringing back the A-Team. According to the report, NBC has sent out casting notices for a four-hour mini-series to air next February which could lead to a new series next fall if it does well. The premise would remain the same, but the team would be Iraq War veterans and the show would focus more on the dark side of being "soldiers of fortune".
Plus, B.A. would now be a woman. Lil� Kim is reportedly in talks for the role.
At least they didn't decide to make Face a woman. That would be two classic Dirk Benedict characters changing gender (Starbuck of "Battlestar Galactica" is the other.). But are we so out of ideas that we have to wreck classic ones?... Nothing further has come of this, so I can only assume that this was either a prank or the idea was just ditched.
