But Mr.T born Laurence Tureaud in Chicaga, one of the youngest of eight boys and three girls raised by a mother on welfare.

At Chicago's Dunbar High School, Laurence starred in athletics and was a three-time city wrestling champion, compiling a record of 90 wins and just on loss! He also scored 35 touchdowns as an American Football half-back.

After serving with honour as a military policeman in the US Army he was invited for trials with top football team the Green Bay Packers. A knee injury forced him out of the Packers training camp, though, so he spent a number of years building a reputation as proffessional bodyguard, protecting personalities such as Muhammad Ali and Michael Jackson. "I'm the best. I like to take care of people I care about."

When production began on Slyvester Stallone's film Rocky III Mr.T found himself with a brand new career when he made his acting debut as boxer Clubber Lang. From there, he went on to appear in another film, which led him to his most famous role as B.A. Baracus in The A-Team.

Trough his work as a proffessionl bodyguard, movie actor, and now a TV star, he hopes to be an inspiration to young people who have grown up in circumstances such as his.

The End
