Who are we?

FAITH

We are evangelical, declaring Jesus Christ as the only way to God, and urging all to trust Him as Savior and Lord. We enthusiastically support worldwide missions by praying, giving, and going.

BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, our foundation in all matters of faith and practice. We focus on the preaching and teaching of God's word.

CHURCH

We are an independent, elder-led family, united to each other through our faith in Jesus Christ, committed to the ministry and fellowship of our local church, and working together with other Christians in the Church Universal.
What is our mission?         Mission Statement

Our mission is to glorify God through:

      *Making disciples.

       *Education.

       *Worship.

        *Fellowship.

*The ordinances of baptism and communion.

        *Service.
What do we believe?

Our basic beliefs are specified in the
Doctrinal Statement.

How we intend to relate to each other is described in the
Covenant of Fellowship.

Our historical stances on some issues of faith and practice are noted briefly in
Traditions of Faith and Practice.
How are we governed?

We are governed by our
Constitution and By-Laws through three groups of officers:

Elders - the executive body of Universal Life Christian Church for ministry and spiritual care.
Deacons - supervising physical care for our fellowship and others.

Trustees - managing our building and tangible property.
How is Universal Life Christian Church financed?

Sources

Our Constitution states, "The work of the church is dependent upon the prayers, personal services and voluntary gifts of the Lord's people."

Universal Life Christian Churchwelcomes financial support from the Fellowship and others, as the Lord directs and provides. We furnish generic contribution envelopes in the pews to allow donors to identify themselves and the intent of their gift. We also welcome gifts of securities (consult the Church Office). Universal Life Christian Church provides receipts for gifts that may be tax-deductible.

Budgets

The Board of Elders approves a detailed local ministry and operating budget (General Fund) and a detailed missions budget (Missions Fund) for each calendar year. Special funds, such as Benevolence, are also provided. All of these are tracked and reported monthly, and audited annually. Planning for each calendar year begins in October and concludes by January. These budgets, for a given calendar year, are published formally at our annual meeting in February.

Solicitations

We do not regularly solicit funds from the Fellowship, set giving goals, or record individual giving (except by the Financial Recording Secretary, who prepares confidential official tax receipts). We do promote missions and other ministry opportunities at appropriate times of the year.
