I received 3 of these fish on 8/22/99.  When I got them only one of them was striped.  When I got them home and put them in the community tank in about 10 min. all three of them had strips, so im not sure if I have 1 male and 2 females or not.  As I figure them out I will keep you posted.  I did have this fish in the past and found it to be a great community fish but can get aggressive so be careful what is in with him.  I did lose one of these little guys and I moved the other 2 into a breeding tank.  There is a big size difference between the remaining two so I am still hoping for a breeding pair. Bummer I lost one more so I just have the one left, I hope to get several more, I really want to get a breeding pair.  The color on this fish is so nice and it looks great and adds a lot to a community tank.

Tank size:
Tank Temp: 78 to 82
Tank pH: 8.0
Fish size when adults - 6" (15 cm)

Breeding Information:

Substrate spawner.  Several caves are recommended.  It will spawn in a community setup, provided pair is not dominated by other aquarium residents.  Spawns may number over 300 eggs. I have not spawned these fish, this breeding information is from several different places.
