I really do not know much about this species other than it is very aggressive. I got 6 of these fish from a local store via Wet Thumb Aquatics (see links page). I received them on 05/12/2000 currently they are in a 15 gallon high, that is only because that was the only tank I had empty. I hope to move them soon to my 29 gallon. Like the rest of the fish I keep I hope to breed these guys. As I learn more about them or if I find some information about them I will update this page and let you know. Like many species of Cichlids it is hard to tell males from females at an early age. There is a method called Venting (see link below) I have not used this method but I understand it is not hard to do. Another jumping fish, I lost one that took a leap of faith and lost.
