The fish on the left is the female and the male is on the right. You can see one of the almost 100 fry in the 30 gallon tank they where in. I did have these fish in a 15 gallon high and they produced a batch of fry every 4 to 5 weeks. They are still on that pace but when I move them to this tank I removed there cave to stop them for a while. They are now back on there breeding schedule of every 4 to 5 weeks. With this fish you can leave fry with the parent fish until they are about 1" long. At that time you will need to remove the fry as the parent fish will start to be aggressive towards them. This will happen after the 4th spawn that's when the oldest fry are about 1" long. I am not sure if its because the older fry are coming into breeding age and the parent fish see them as a rival in there territory or what, but they need to be removed at that time. The fish in the picture above I no longer have but I am raising some fry to make another breeding pair. I did get some fry from a friend so I don't inbreed. I am raising 6 juveniles so it will not be long until they start to breed.
