Lamprologus Fasciatus
Also called Altolamprologus

Thank you Cichlid Press and Ad Konings for allowing me to use your pictures.

This is a new fish for me, I selected it from pictures.  This fish likes rocky areas like most cichlids but will also use shells for hiding and breeding.  The male is much larger than the female as much as four time larger in fact.  This is a peaceful cichlid and should not be kept with aggressive Cichlids.  (this information was gathered form different sources)  I received 6 of  these fish from Wet Thumb Aquatics (see links page) on 05/12/2000 through a local store.  They where in great condition and where about 2" long.

Tank size:  20 gallon long
Tank Temp: 78 to 82
Tank pH. - 8.0
Adult size: Males 6" (15 cm) and females 3" (7.6 cm)

Breeding information:

Substrate spawner.  Will spawn in empty snail shells or other narrow structures.  Spawns may number over 100.  Juveniles are very slow growing.  Feed live baby brine shrimp as their first food.  (this information was taken from several different sources)
