"Hornet Bell"
Material: a string, which has
a short sick attached to it at the both ends; a Cher-Ling, which is made
of plastic or wood and it looks like two small wheels connected by a rod.
The two wheels are hollow inside and have small holes on their surface
(see Cher-Ling3.jpg).
Place/site: a paved ground
with enough space to move your hands
Number of participants:
any number
Aim: Keep the Cher-Ling
whirling and moving on the string.
How to play: Place a Cher-Ling
on the middle of a string, and then hold one stick in each hand and lift
the string. Move the two sticks up and down, and
the Cher-Ling will whirl and move on the string between the two sticks
(see Cher-Ling1 and 2.jpg).
The Cher-Ling will make
beautiful humming sounds while it is whirling because of the small holes
on the surface. A skillful player can throw a Cher-Ling upwards and
catch it again on the sting.
