What my mum played
Michelle is 31 years old and tells us about a game played when aged 7-8. My school break times: During school break times I liked to play hopscotch and skipping.

My favourite school playground game: My favourite playground game was skipping. How to play: A length of rope is held between two people. The two people holding the rope have to pull the rope round with their hands so that it forms a circle. While the rope is going round someone else has to jump in the middle without touching the rope.
What you need: A length of rope.

Special game location, surface or design: You need a flat surface like the school playground to play on.
Special rhymes, songs or language used:
There are lots of skipping rhymes like:
The wind, the wind,
The wind blows high.
Out pops Michelle from the sky.
She is handsome, she is pretty,
She is the girl from the golden city.
Tell, tell your lover s name...
