"Shadow Tig"
Allan is 10 years old and tells us about a game played when aged 8. My school break times: During school playtimes I mostly play at football. If I am not playing football I like to play shadow tig with my friends.

My favourite school playground game: My favourite playground game is shadow tig. How to play: To play shadow tig it has to be a sunny day. Someone is het (that means they are the one who does the chasing). The idea of the game is that the person who is het is going to chase the shadows of all the other players. If they do manage to stand on someone s shadow then that person becomes het. If you stand in the shadow of something else e.g. a building, where your shadow can t be seen then you are safe in den.

What you need: You need the sun in order to play this game. Special game location, surface or design: A good place to play is the school playground. There is no special language associated with this game. (Allan Burgoyne, 10 years old)
