"Fudge, fudge, tell
the judge!"
Elizabeth Bradley is 29 years
old and tells us about a game played when aged 9. My school break times:
What do you (or did you) like to do the most during school break times?
I liked to play balls, Chinese ropes, hopscotch, chases and bulldog. My
favourite school playground game: My favourite playground game was Chinese
ropes.
How to play: You need a rope
and three or more players. Two people each hold an end of the rope. They
wind the rope in a circle formation. The third person jumps in the middle
of the rope as it goes round. The aim of the game is to stay in the rope
without getting tangled in it.
What you need: A rope three
or more people. Special game location, surface or design: A smooth surface
like concrete is best. Special rhymes, songs or language used: There are
some skipping songs like;
The big ship sails on the
alley alley oh!
The alley, alley Oh!
The alley, alley Oh!
The big ship sails on the
alley, alley oh!
On the last day of September!
Fudge, fudge, tell the judge
Someone s having a baby.
Someone s going crazy!
5... 10... 15... 20 etc.
The wind, the wind blows
high
Out pops... whoever from
the sky,
She are handsome, she are
pretty
She is the one from the
Golden City.
Tell, tell your lover s
name...
True, false, true, false...
etc.
