The Giant
The children form a circle round
"Mother". They ask: "Mother, may we go out to play?"
Mother answers: "Yes, you
may, but don't go near the giant's cave". The "giant" is one of the children
and he either behind something or is confined to a chalk circle on the
ground. The children leave their places round "Mother" and run about until
Mother says" "Children, children, please, hurry home or the giant may catch
you!"
Then the children run back
to their places and the giant tries to catch one of them before they get
back "home". The child who is caught becomes "the giant". (Maria Dumitru)
