The Farmer on the
Fields
The children sit in the circle,
like dwarves and they sing:
The farmer is on
the fields,
The farmer is on the fields,
Hurray, my sweetheart,
The farmer is on the fields.
One child, selected from the
very beginning of the play, walk in the middle of the circle applauding
in the rhythm of the song. Each of the following verse is an opportunity
for farmer to choose a child for every character mentioned in the song:
He has a wife…
His wife has a child…
His child has a nurse…
The nurse has a kitten…
The kitten has a mouse…
The play is finished when, in
succession, is included the final player. (Razvan Bratosin)
