The Queen's Stolen
Steps
This game stimulates children's
wish about getting the leader of the group, but most of all, keeping this
position.
Can participate 8-14 children.
They choose a queen counting. She stays turned with her face to a wall
or a tree. At about twenty meters somebody draws a line on the ground.
The players will start from this place to the place where the queen is.
They must do "stolen steps", that is to go towards the queen only when
she is turned back. If the queen catches any player moving when she turns
to them, these are resent to the departure place. Children must be skilful,
must try to arrive unnoticed to the queen's place, to touch her and then
to take her place.
On the other hand, the queen
must try to keep her position catching her adversaries in motion. She has
to stay turned (with her face to the tree or to the wall) for longer or
shorter periods of time.
