Roda da Cabacinha (Cabacinha Rotation/Turning Round)
English version by Regina Machado Garcez <[email protected]>
Colégio Sinodal, São Leopoldo - Rio Grande do Sul - Brasil
These games are also described in Spanish and Catalan too on the web page of Rafael Badia, Spain at: Juegos infantiles de todo el mundo

Material: nenhum

*A translator note: "cabacinha" in a Brazilian Portuguese dictionary is shown as a ball made of wax which children throw at each other during a specific game.
"Cabaça" is a musical instrument with an African origin, very much used here in Brazil in "candomblé"..."Xixa Canela"- "canela" can be synonimous for "ankle" and "xixa" in my opinion can be either a verb or an adjective like "fast"/"speed" or something else/ similar.)

Material: None
Place: a clean and plain/flat ground with no holes.
Number of Participants: Two
Aim of the Game: To rotate the body as fast as possible without falling down.
How to play: Two players facing each other, holding each other hands and having their feet together, facing themselves. They lean their body backwards with their arms totally stretched. When they are ready they start to rotate their bodies very slowly at first, while they say "Roda, roda cabacinha, roda roda cabação"... or they say  "Xixa canela, xixa canela",increasing their speed until they can go faster and faster.

*Note from Regina: Maybe here in Brazil we call a similar game "Roda Pião"
