The Little Soldiers
The children choose the child
who will "keep watch":
"I climb the fig tree and
I step on the walnut tree
I drink the sweet wine with
the golden cup."
The child who "keeps watch"
with its back turned to the other children shouts loudly:
"Little soldiers immovable,
silent, sullen!" and turns suddenly in case it catches any child moving.
The rest of the children take similar attitudes. The child who "keeps watch"
stands close to the other children, make funny grimaces trying to make
the children laugh or talk or move.
The children must not laugh
or talk or move because they loose. The child who looses "keeps watch".
