Every
nation has its traditional games that illustrate its character, its customs
and traditions. Belarussians are not an exclusion. They also have their
favourite games that are kept and passed on from generation to generation.
They are closely connected with family life and work, with the country's
climate and nature.
As a rule Belarussian folk
games are active. Some of them are accompanied by singing, dancing; others
strictly organize the roles of their participants. Games-round dances so
typical of all Slavonic people are also very popular with kids in Belarus.
A Pancake Is Burning!
Players draw a circle on the
ground and stand on it. (The number of players is not limited.) " The catcher"
stands 3-4 metres away from the circle. He starts the game saying," The
pancake is burning!" The players run away from the circle, but not too
far and try to return to it immediately. "The catcher" tries to touch some
player at this moment. The person touched by him becomes "the catcher"
while the previous one joins the rest of the players.
