Although my MC Chris page has been around since the Summer of 2002, I used to just delete my old updates, but I'll be saving them from now on. Just in case anyone wants to know...

4/9/03 -"I'm the weird al of underground hip hop." - mc chris
I apologize for the long period of no updates, but I'd like to make it up to you now with an *Exclusive Interview of mc chris*. The questions were compiled by myself and fans, Kearney1900, Ravid Rabbit Mike, and Sketti Brock.

-----------------------------------------

Q: Who inspired you to start rhyming?

A: de la soul and dirt bike annie

Q: Has your voice always been high? Or is it helium gone wrong?

A: always high

Q: How did the character of mc chris come about, and how is he different or similar to your private persona?

A: back in college, in nyc, a girl that I liked, a real hot Indian girl that was into my friend called me mc. llike a nickname, and everyone picked up on it. and it's followed me everywhere I go. I am basically nothing like mc chris. I don't have as much crazy sex. That's the main difference. I am really sensitive and insecure. mcchris is a pimp with all the confidence in the world. I invented him to work against those negative feelings. And I'm not as big a geek as I was made out to be. I don't know as much stuff as geeks do. I'm geek lite.

Q: What is the meaning behind the bar patterns on the CD covers?

A: It's an iching symbol used by snake eyes and storm shadow in the gi joe comics from the eighties. it was a tattoo they both had on their arm. they both were trained at the same dojo. [My boyfriend says this is called "The arashikage tattoo." See the KIHTH Page for a picture. - Audra] I thought instead of a starwars theme, I'd go the gi joe route. fans have told me what the symbol really means but that doesn't really apply.

Q: Where have all the flowers gone?

A: up my nose.

Q: Are you performing live anywhere, or are you planning any appearances?

A: I will be at comicon in atlanta this saturday. and sometimes I do the kareoke at lennies on wednesday night. my dj and I live in different parts of the country so we can't really perform and the job keeps me from touring. someone told me andrew wk used to do his show with a cd player. maybe I'll do that someday.

Q: Is the song, "Number One With the Ladies," that is being shared on Kazaa yours? If so, where did it come from, and do you have any other songs that you have not officially released?

A: it is me. that is me and the band the lee majors. we did that at 88 christopher street on an 8 track. we have a shit load of music from that era. I just have to get it from dirt bike annie (many of the same members) they are mixing their new album so I'm
waiting for them to break on that before I start begging for the master tapes again.

Q: Cookie Breath... was it indeed written for your current girlfriend?

A: indeed it was. I was the other guy hopelessly smitten with his best friend who had a far away boyfriend. she eventually came around. thank god.

Q: Who are some of your favorite musicians today?

A: zwan, reggie and the full effect, dungeon fam, I've been listening to my sean paul cd alot, it reminds me of jersey city where I used to live. it reminds me of new york and that club vibe that's everywhere.

Q: What do you think of Eminem? Do you have any beef that you want to get off your chest with other artists?

A: Eminem is very talented and overplayed. It's hard to like something if you're not making a choice to listen to it. I didn't see 8 mile. If anything I wish there were more white rappers so it wouldn't be such a big deal. I don't like my music being compared to his, because then the person isn't getting the joke. I'm the weird al of underground hip hop. I am not a contender. I am a satirist of hip hop. I try to make it funny and catchy. that's my goal. I have no beef with anyone. I saw that frontalot and hawking did a geek rap and wrote some lyrics about me. that's more of a compliment than a diss. Hijack is about as negative as I get, and that's just mic posturing. I've never been in a fight in my life.

Q: What's the deal with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck? You know what I'm talking about.

A: I thought Bourne Identity was kick ass. I get my hair cut at a black barber shop. they were all down with matt and NOT ben. and I don't think it was jlo jealousy. they said affleck is more popular because he looked like a kennedy. that's some deep shit right
there.

Q: Who would you like to work with on your projects? Have you ever considered collaborating with Schooly D?

A: There is a collaboration in the works with schooly. can't talk about it. I was love to have prince paul produce my first real album or rick rubin. I'd like to work with all the punk rockers I know in nyc. that'd be cool. if I ever move back, that's on the to do list.

Q: Any future plans you would like to share with your fans?

A: well, i've told you my plan for the next album. there's some cartoon goodies that will be popping up this summer and next fall. I plan on getting a used car with the money I make from the cd sales. so go buy more cd's and put me on wheels!

Q: Who would win in a fight: you, Bono from U2 or Mr. T?

A: I cannot answer this questions seriously. I pity the fool that thinks this question isn't ridiculous.

Q: What fan mail questions are you sick of answering, or have the least chance of getting an answer from you?

A: Send me a copy of "I want Candy." Sure thing. Coming right up.

Q: How much can we expect to see or hear from you in the upcoming season of Adult Swim?

A: I've done two voices for athf and one for brak that you haven't heard yet. Hesh has yet to make a comeback.

Q: Were many episodes of the Adult Swim cartoons written while under the influence of drugs?

A: nope, everyone here is stone cold sober.

Q: Who is your daddy and what does he do?

A: My dad is guy that's into tom clancy books and toy soldiers. He likes his volume way up and he mutes the commercials. Currently he is planting flowers around the house.

Q: Have you ever killed a man?

A: no. sometimes I wanna kill george bush. just so he knows what it feels like.

Q: Marvel or D.C.?

A: Marvel

Q: Will you be at DragonCon this year?

A: yes. it is now called Atlanta Comicon because that dragoncon guy got caught molesting the youngins. I am also going to try to go to Comicon in San Deigo. Hope to see ya there! xomc

*Fan Creation* mc chris fan, Dark Child, sent me a picture of this homemade "Life's A Bitch" shirt. Nice work!

*Third Album Scoop* I'm an idiot. The last time I updated I accidentally saved over mc chris's quote about the upcoming third album, but to paraphrase, mc is planning on getting together with DJ John Fewell as soon as possible to work on the third album. This album will have a lot more songs than previous albums. He wants to make a party album like "Paul's Boutique" or "Licensed to Ill."

3/1/03 - *Skit Transcripts* have just been added to the "Life's A Bitch And I'm Her Pimp" page. Thank you to The Infamous Timmy for transcribing them.

2/27/03 - *DQ Blizzard Remix* Check out this remix by Karl Olson at Ampcast.Com - Karl Olson. It's the 11th thing down on the list.

2/26/03 - *Merchandise* T-shirts and bumper stickers are now available at mcchris.com. Surprisingly they are of the first album, "Life's a Bitch and I'm Her Pimp," and there is no merchandise for the new album. There is also a note that "Life's a Bitch..." may actually be for sale in the next few months!

2/21/03 - *Update* I was getting bored and decided the page needed a new look. What do you think? Everything's still here. Just click on the links above. I also added other music recommendations. They are under the "music" section.
*mc chris T-shirts*
According to mc chris's last update, t-shirts were supposed to be ready to order today. John hasn't updated mcchris.com yet, but I expect he will soon. The regular edition of "Knowing Is Half The Hassle" should be available any day now as well, so keep checking back!

2/16/03 - *Update* on the Knowing is Half the Hassle page and Life's a Bitch and I'm her Pimp page. I added graphics and annotations to the lyrics.
*The Original mc chris Message Board has been located* Thank God, no one has to rely on my crappy excuse for a message board. John seems to be having some hosting problems with his web site, mcchrisfan.com, but the message board is still in existence Here it is! The rest of the site can be accessed from there too.
*Another fan site* Yay! Check out my friend, Josie's mc chris page. If anybody else has a mc chris page, send me the link and I'll be happy to post it!

1/29/03 - There is an update at mcchris.com. Merchandise will be available along with the new album at the end of February! Also mc was interviewed by Everything2.Com. The interview is on the main page at mcchris.com, or you can go to Everything2.Com and search for mc chris and it will come up. According to the interview, mc will probably be at COMICON, which is April 11-13, 2003 in Atlanta, GA.

1/18/03 - I added a lyrics page for "Knowing Is Half the Hassle," which will eventually become the page for everything on the album, but it's a start. I'm also going to try to give that page a G.I. Joe theme when it's finished to go along with the album title's reference and the line in "Geek," "Dreadnocks rock!" My boyfriend heartily agrees with that proclamation, though we have a difference of opinion about how much ass "Dinobots" kick. I much preferred Tigatron. ;)

1/16/03 10:30 PM - *KNOWING IS HALF THE HASSLE* It has arrived!! My limited edition copy of the new album arrived this afternoon, #171 of 200. Here it is. I immediately got back in my car and drove around North Philly blasting it. I love it! I was expecting a lot, and it's even better than I expected! It's going to get it's own page eventually, but for now, Scroll down to the Music section for more info. :-D
1/16/03 10:00 AM -
*Graphics* Hey, I just noticed mc chris posted a link to my page from mcchris.com. Nice! In celebration of that, in anticipation of receiving my copy of thenew album, and because my friend, Chris (another one), told me how to take screen grabs, I uploaded some MC Chris-related graphics from Adult Swim. Scroll down to the Adult Swim section for those. Feel free to steal them, but if you put them on your page, please link back to me. :)

1/15/03 - Thanks to all the new and old fans of MC Chris who have written to compliment me on the page, and ask about the new album. I just want to let everyone know that the page will be updated very soon. MC Chris's DJ and web guy, John, has assured me that he put my autographed copy of "knowing is half the hassle" in the mail today. I can't believe that at least 200 other people have already been listening to it, and I don't have one yet! Check back in about a week and I should have lots of new info, sound clips, and a scan of the album.

12/30/02 - MC Chris Has "Geek Pride"!! I added quotes from the "Toyfare" interview of MC Chris, and a transcript of last night's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" episode, "Cybernetic Ghost," in which MC voiced Little Carl.
**MC Chris sound clips** I added soundclips of MC Chris's characters from various Adult Swim shows. Scroll down to the Adult Swim section to download them.
**Another MC Chris Fan Site** Mine is still the first, but no longer the only MC Chris fan site, and it's about time. John's site, MCChrisFan.Com has a forum, which I joined of course.
** MC Chris on Space Ghost** Watch for MC Chris on a brand new "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" episode "Baffler Meal," which airs New Year's Eve at midnight, and will be repeated Sunday, January 5, at 11:00 PM on Cartoon Network.

12/21/02 - I've been busy the past few days (yeah right, busy watching my new "Back to the Future" DVD box set, hehe), and I just realized there is a lot of MC Chris news to be reported!
**More New Album Updates** We now know the song titles from "Knowing Is Half the Hassle." Scroll down to the Music section for more information.
**MC Chris in Toyfare** There is supposedly an article on MC Chris in Toyfare magazine this month--more details on that as soon as I get my hands on a copy.

12/12/02 - **New Album Update**According to MCChris.Com, the second album will be available THIS MONTH and is called "Knowing is Half the Hassle," a play on "Knowing is half the battle," from the end of the old GI Joe cartoons where the Joes would give advice like: Don't hide in the fridge, kids, because you could get trapped in there, and it's cold!

12/7/02 - Transcript of "Brakstreet: Men in the Band" is up!
