We are already into that stage in the Vitality T20 Blast 2022 wherein the teams would have already started to either prepare for the next round or their next tournament. Most teams set to qualify for the next round are already known and other than a bit of shuffling on the ladder, not much is there to be seen.
Up next in the competition, Worcestershire Rapids are set to take on Nottinghamshire Outlaws in a match that is practically a dead rubber for both these sides. The match between the two sides is to be played on 3rd July 2022 at Worcester.
Just a couple of years ago, Worcestershire were one of the forces to deal with in English domestic T20 Cricket but the tables have turned massively. While most of the things have stayed the same, be it team combinations, or experience, Worcestershire's performance has deterred. They have been awfully poor this and the previous season and would want to rather top this off with a win.
As it currently stands on the ladder, they are placed at the bottom of the table with just two wins despite featuring in 12 completed games. Their net run-rate is so poor that they do not even stand a chance to rise even one slot up, even if they win in this upcoming match.
The good thing for them is that they are coming off a win in one of their recent matches and should be a bit more confident. They do have a decent side on paper, which is in disarray. They would need to gel back together and play to their potential to challenge Nottinghamshire. If they can do that, they should be well in business.

Not long ago, Nottinghamshire were well in the race to qualify for the next round but a string off losses has pushed them back massively. They are no longer in the hunt to qualify and the result of this match will have no impact whatsoever, as far as the playoff scenarios are concerned.
As it currently stands on the points table, Nottinghamshire are placed at the seventh spot with 6 wins from 13 matches. They do have a respectable net run-rate despite it being in negative, but that won't really matter anyway.
Nottinghamshire have a side full of match-winners and that is evident by the kind of wins they have posted in the tournament so far. However, they have been a bit inconsistent and erratic and that would be playing on their minds. Considering how they have played in their recent matches, they would need to be watchful. If they can play to their potential, getting past them could prove to be very difficult.
AD Hales, Joe Clarke, S Budinger, Ben Duckett, Steven Mullaney, Tom Moores, Lyndon James, SR Patel, Joey Evison, Calvin Harrison, Jake Ball.
This might not be a match as important as some of the other remaining matches in the tournament, but both these sides would want to register a win here. Both sides are no longer in contention for a quarter-final spot and will be playing to redeem themselves. Considering the form of the two sides, Nottinghamshire are clearly ahead. They also have a better-balanced side between the two, at least on paper, and are, therefore, our pick to win this upcoming match.
