Up next in the competition, Trent Rockets are set to take on Northern Superchargers in a match that carries massive importance for both these sides. The match will be played on the evening of 26th July 2021 at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham.
Trent Rockets have played just one match in the tournament so far and they looked remarkably good in that match. They went high and handsome just like a rocket does in their opening game of the match as they registered an imposing win over Southern Braves. While Trent Rockets winning the match by nine wickets shows how good their batsmen were, it was their bowlers who set up that match for them.
Marchant de Lange demolished Brave with a brilliant five-wicket haul, the first of the Hundred, as the Rockets were left to chase a relatively modest total. In addition to de Lange, Joe Root played a crucial role with his off-spinners as he held one end up, which forced Brave batsmen to take risky chances. Joe Root and Samit Patel were brilliant together in the middle-overs as they conceded just 26 runs off 30 deliveries.
Almost everyone performed and stepped up for the Rockets in the opening game and that would make them pumped for this upcoming match. Dawid Malan and D'Arcy Short were brilliant with the bat. With excellent spinners available at their disposal, including Rashid Khan - who is arguably the best exponent of the white-ball bowling, scoring against Rockets will be a challenge. Besides, they have a superb batting unit that can take apart any bowling attack on their day. If they get a right in the upcoming match, beating them will be a massive challenge.

Superchargers are coming off a rather unanticipated loss given the star-power they had at their disposal. Their star-power will go for the toss in the upcoming matches as well with Ben Stokes leaving to play for England vs India test series. Having said that, he will be available for this upcoming match and will want to register a win for his final league game for his franchise.
Northern Superchargers may have conceded a total too high for their liking, but the way they fought with the bat was truly commendable. Harry Brook played a brilliant innings to take them close to a win, but they just didn't manage to seal the deal. Another thing that the Superchargers will be have to wary about is their death overs bowling. David Willey and Brydon Carse conceded runs at an economy rate of more than two runs a ball and that did hurt them big time, given the nature of the format. Apart from that, they do not have enough bench strength too, as far as the death bowling is concerned.
All in all, Northern Superchargers have a terrific batting lineup, but their bowling appears to be struggling. The depth in their batting lineup can be a headache to deal with even for the sides with excellent bowling attacks. They would need to get their bowling right and if that happens, beating them is going to be challenging.

We are moving towards the most important stage of the tournament, at which the knockouts will likely be determined. Superchargers desperately need a win here as a couple of consecutive losses can truly deflate a team in a short tournament. Rockets, on the other hand, did exceedingly well in their last match. Keeping that into consideration and the on-paper combinations, betting on a Rockets win should be the way to go here.
