These are still early days in the Big Bash League 2021 and the reverse fixtures are already underway. Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars, the two sides who have already met, are set to take on each other in an important upcoming fixture. Melbourne Stars started their run in the tournament with a record defeat at the hands of Sydney Sixers and have featured in only one game since then. They did manage to register a win in their second match, but the magnitude of the loss in their first game is still ensuring that Stars stay in the bottom half of the points table.

In their previous match, which also happened to be a reverse fixture of this upcoming match, Melbourne Stars just managed to edge past Sydney Thunder, beating them by four wickets. That win would have certainly instilled a lot of self-belief among the players, especially after the drubbing they got in the first match.
On paper, the Stars have an immaculately balanced side that just did not click in their first match. The likes of Marcus Stoinis, Joe Clarke, Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell, and Nick Larkin can be too tough to handle on their days if they are able to do their job, beating them is going to be incredibly difficult.

On the basis of form, the Stars appear to be marginally in front even though they lost their last match by a tall margin. Besides, they have loads of experience available that can come in handy in this high-pressure match.
