IPL 2022 has been quite close so far and just one win separates teams in position 2 to position 7. It is the Kolkata Knight Riders in the second position and Sumrisers Hyderabad in the 7th, both teams that are going to be playing against each other in this match.
SRH is coming into this match on the back of two wins and just seems to have got its act together while KKR stumbled a bit against DC and may be looking at a few changes.
The best IPL betting sites are all pricing KKr as the favorite in this match. Can SRH make it three times in a row as the underdog?
Match prediction and IPL betting tips for SRH vs KKR IPL 2022. The match is going to be played at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on the 15th of April 2022.
SRH has won two of its games chasing successfully and will now be playing its first match of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium. This has been one of the best batting venues that we have seen this season and so the onus is going to be on the SRH batting to deliver once more.
Abhishek Sharma has hit form at just the right time and we also saw Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, and Rahul Tripathi get runs in the previous couple of matches. These are good signs for SRH and they will try to build on that momentum.
With Aiden Markram and Shashank Singh in the lineup, SRH has a strong lower order but it could be missing Washington Sundar for this match as he ruptured his webbing on the right hand. This order looks good when things are falling its way but a good team can certainly find some weaknesses.
Abhishek Sharma got a lot of runs from edges in the previous match, Kane Williamson got multiple chances, and Nicholas Pooran is always going to play high-risk cricket. Luck is not always going to be its side and that could be an issue.
Part of the reason why SRH has started to win is that its bowling attack is coming together. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan are bowling well consistently plus the addition of Marco Jansen to the lineup seems to be doing the trick as well.
Once again, the absence of Sundar in the playing eleven will affect the balance of the team and that could be an issue.
There are a number of match-winners in the SRH lineup but we don't think their individual matchups against KKR are very favorable.
Abhishek Sharma, KS Williamson, RA Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen, Jagadeesha Suchith, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik.
KKR was blindsided by an excellent batting performance from DC in the previous match. It was left chasing 216 and could only manage 171 in response. The problem for KKR seems to be that it had two players in the playing eleven that were basically not doing anything.
Rasikh Salam bowled one over in the entire match and batted at number 10. Ajinkya Rahana opened the batting, made 8 runs from 14 balls (all crucial powerplay deliveries), and got out. There is just no way that KKR can continue to allow this to happen since it adds pressure on the rest of the team.
Still, three wins from five matches is not bad and they have obviously done a few things right. Umesh Yadav in the powerplay, Sunil Narine's consistency, Pat Cummins and Andre Russel as the 'X' factors, and a strong batting lineup.
Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane need to set things up better for the batters to follow so that Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, and Sam Billings can dominate through the middle.
KKR has a more powerful batting lineup than SRH and we think it should be able to hit more sixes/fours in most matches. That could be a betting market to explore in this match.
KKR is not the most balanced of lineups and has a couple of players out of form. Overall, though, we like how it has been playing so far and think the best is yet to come for the team.
Aaron Finch, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, SP Jackson, Pat Cummins, SP Narine, Umesh Yadav, Aman Khan, Varun Chakravarthy.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. There have been four matches played at the Brabourne Stadium in IPL 2022, two being won by the chasing team and two by the team that has batted first.

The weather forecast remains good for match day but the pitch will attract a lot of attention. Brabourne Stadium has served up some real batting belters so far but every single venue is going to start offering more help to the spinners as IPL 2022 progresses. That could be good news for Sunil Narine and bad news for SRH who are likely to miss Washington Sundar.
We still expect a lot of runs to be scored, though, and something around 180 could be the minimum that teams aim for batting first.

We are going to bet on the Kolkata Knight Riders to win. KKR has shown more intent and better T20 strategy in the matches played so far. We also think their batting is better than SRH and Umesh Yadav with the new ball gives KKR an edge as well.
Bet on the Kolkata Knight Riders to win.
KKR has a stronger batting lineup and generally plays with a higher tempo than SRH. To get nearly 2x return on KKR hitting more fours is a good deal.
Iyer faced 8 deliveries in the previous match and hit two sixes. He is not in the best of form but seemed to be just getting into rhythm in the previous match. A punt on him seems like a good option right now.
Brabourne has been a very high-scoring venue and we saw 189 being chased down in the previous match played here as well. With two teams that are batting well at the moment, the Over/Under line at 179.5 seems to be just about fair.
