It is always fun to see the greats of yesteryear get back on the cricket field once more and that is exactly what the Road Safety World Series is all about. The tournament was interrupted by COVID-19 and now it is all set to resume after a gap of almost one year.
Sri Lanka Legends will be taking on the West Indies Legends in this next match. The West Indian team is still looking for its first win while Sri Lanka has one win against Australia under its belt. It will be very interesting to see how they match up in this contest against each other.
Sri Lanka Legends vs West Indies Legends Road Safety World Series 2021 is going to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur on the 6th of March 2021.
The man to watch out for in this Sri Lankan team is Tillakaratne Dilshan. Not only will he be leading the team but he will also be the biggest threat in the batting department. He has remained fit and is quite competitive whenever he gets on the field. That is something we like to see because he is going to play to win and put a price on his wicket.
Some of the other batsmen to watch out for in this team include Chamara Kapugedera and Farveez Maharoof. Romesh Kaluwitharana is a true legend but perhaps he has been away from the game for too long and is unlikely to much of a threat.
Among the bowlers, Sri Lanka actually has four very decent spinners. The greatest of them all is Muttiah Muralitharan but there are others who have played cricket till quite recently. Ajantha Mendis, Rangana Herath, and Upul Chandana are all a part of this squad.
We think three of them should find a place in the eleven quite easily. Chaminda Vaas and Thila Thushara are the fast bowlers in the squad.
Sri Lanka has a very decent team including some names from its golden run in world cricket.
TM Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, WU Tharanga, Chamara Silva, Russel Arnold, Farveez Maharoof, HCU Jayasinghe, Nuwan Kulasekara, Rangana Herath, BAW Mendis, Dhammika Prasad.
West Indies has some names in its team that make the heart jump in glee. Brian Lara, perhaps the best player of spin and one of the greatest batsmen of all time, leads the side. He will remember how much success he had against Sri Lanka during his career and hope to revive a few memories!
Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Darren Ganga, Carl Hooper, and Ricardo Powell are the other batsmen in the squad with Ridley Jacobs to take the gloves. This is a strong batting lineup and one that we think can give a hard time to the Sri Lankan bowlers.
Pedro Collins, Tino Best, and Samuel Badree will lead the bowling attack with support from Sulieman Benn and Adam Sanford. The bowling options are a bit thin in this lineup and that is something that the West Indies will have to overcome.

There is no rain forecast for Raipur and the pitch is expected to be absolutely flat. There is going to be nothing in the surface for the bowlers. The ball will come on to the bat nicely, race along the fast outfield, and allow for a lot of runs to be scored.
We think a score of around 170 should be seen as par batting first.
We are going to go with the Sri Lanka Legends in this match. We think they have the batting lineup to be able to make life difficult for the West Indian spinners and have a much stronger bowling lineup themselves.
