The Road Safety World Series 2021 is going to be a great opportunity to see some of the legends of yesteryear in action once again. The cricket is never the most extreme or the most competitive but the nostalgia of seeing your heroes walk out once more is a lot of fun.
COVID-19 forced the tournament to be called off in March of 2020 but it appears as if the organizers are planning to continue the tournament from where they left off last year.
The first match this year is going to be played between India Legends and Bangladesh Legends. This is going to be recorded as the fifth match of the tournament, though, and so that is something to keep in mind.
India Legends vs Bangladesh Legends Road Safety World Series 2021 is going to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur on the 5th of March 2021.
India’s biggest draw is its opening pair. People flock to the ground to see Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag bat together once more. While these two may be retired, they still can play pretty well.
Sehwag is still as aggressive as ever and probably the one to watch out for among all these players.
Irfan Pathan, Manpreet Gony, and Munaf Patel were playing the SLPL till recently although we would hesitate to call any one of these three ‘Legends’. Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Zaheer Khan, and Pragyan Ojha are some of the big names in the team.
India Legends is the easy tournament favorite, especially in home conditions.
SR Tendulkar, V Sehwag, Y Singh, Mohammad Kaif, YK Pathan, N Ojha, Irfan Pathan, Manpreet Gony, RV Kumar, Pragyan Ojha, Munaf Patel.
Bangladesh cricket has only recently taken the step up top to be considered as one of the big boys and so their older players do not have the same kind of respect that some of the other teams in this competition do.
Mohammad Sharif, Aftab Ahmed, Javed Omar, and Rajin Saleh are some of the players that will form a part of the batting lineup. Abdur Razzak and Mohammad Rafique will be the bowlers to watch out for. These two left-arm spinners can still be expected to be consistent and ask difficult questions of the opposition.
Bangladesh is a decent bowling team but it may not have the batting strength to really challenge India.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. Chasing can be a touch more difficult as there is always a risk of losing early wickets.

There is absolutely no rain forecast for match day. The pitch should be an absolute road (pardon the pun) with nothing in it for the bowlers. The batsmen will be able to score freely and hit through the line as they wish. There will be plenty of runs on offer as the outfield is going to be very fast as well.
A score of around 170-180 is going to be par batting first.
We have no hesitation in backing India Legends in this match. They have a stronger batting lineup, a better bowling attack, and more players that are still somewhat in touch with competitive cricket.

Yuvraj Singh has been playing domestic T20 cricket in Canada even after retirement and has done pretty well. He is a great striker of the ball and may enjoy facing the left-arm spin from the Bangladeshi bowlers. Seeing him get 20 runs in this match is not a stretch at all.
