Australia has dominated the first two T20 internationals against Sri Lanka and has won the series already. The third T20 could be an opportunity for it to try some players. As for Sri Lanka, we think they would be very pleased to move away from the R. Premadasa Stadium (where they have a horrendous record) to Pallekele Stadium (where their record is a bit better).
Could a change of venue bring a change in luck for Sri Lanka or will Australia continue to boss them around?
The cricket betting sites are offering some very short odds on Australia now and finding value in this match is not going to be easy.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Sri Lanka vs Australia 3rd T20 2022. The match is going to be played at the Pallekele International Stadium, Pallekele on the 11th of June 2022.
Sri Lanka has shown signs of some fight in both matches but it was not enough to really challenge Australia. The top-order played decently during the first T20 and Sri Lanka was well-placed at 100 for 1 before collapsing. In the second, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up four wickets and raised the chance that Sri Lanka might be able to defend a small total.
What Sri Lanka really needs is for both the bowling and the batting to come good at the same time.
Sri Lanka has lost four out of the previous five matches against Australia. It has looked far from its best in this match and seemed susceptible to the good lines the Aussie bowlers have bowled. Asalanka, Gunathilaka, and Nissanka have all got starts but only Gunathilaka is striking over 150.
Sri Lanka's batting looks uncomfortable against the short ball barrage that Jhye Richardson put them through. There is also a lack of power in the middle order that prevents them from getting a boost towards the end of the inning.
Palikele is a better batting venue and we may see a better total but we doubt it is going to be match-winning. Gunathilaka is our pick for the Top Batsman Sri Lanka betting market.
Wanindu Hasaranga dominates the bowling charts for Sri Lanka and will be full of confidence after his performance in the second match. He is once again priced quite attractively for the Top Bowler market. You can also consider him to pick 2+ wickets. Dushmanth Chameera is the other bowler that has a lot of potential but he has disappointed in the series so far.
Not a single bowler from Sri Lanka has picked up more than one wicket in the series so far apart from Wanindu Hasaranga.
Pathum Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, Charith Asalanka, Kusal Mendis, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka, Wanidu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, PVD Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, Praveen Jayawickrama.
Australia has barely gone out of second gear and won the first two matches with ease. They rested Starc and brought in Jhye Richardson, who was immediately effective and picked up three wickets as well. They could continue to tinker around with their lineup but we don't think it is going to make much difference.
The likes of Josh Hazelwood, Kane Richardson, and Jhye Richardson showed how formidable they can be even on the slow Sri Lankan surfaces. They were not afraid to bounce the ball and force the Sri Lankan batsmen to hit horizontal shots that they were not comfortable with.
Having Ashton Agar and Mitchell Marsh also adds a lot of balance to the lineup.
Australia's batting has been dominated by the top order, especially the opening pair. David Warner looks to be in prime form and is just continuing from where he finished in the IPL. It was an unfortunate runout that took care of him in the second T20 otherwise he was running away with the game scoring faster than anyone else in the match.
Aaron Finch has also got some runs but he remains unconvincing. We think Warner is the player you want to bet on to score some runs once more. We also think the Over/Under on Steve Smith is quite enticing. He is not the best T20 player but we do think he is likely to score some runs if he comes in to bat early enough.
Australia has a lot more depth and power on its side. It also has the winning momentum that gives the confidence to win from any position.
Aaron Finch, David Warner, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Josh Hazlewood.
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bowl first. Both teams have been won by the chasing team so far and we think both teams would like to run down a target in this next match as well.

The weather forecast for Pallekele is good right now. There is almost no chance of rain even though the humidity is a bit on the higher side. The pitch is going to be good for batting. The scores tend to be higher here than what we saw at the Premadasa. There should also be more sixes hit than in previous matches.
We think something around 170 is going to be the least that teams aim for batting first.

We are going to bet on Australia to win this match. The betting strategy here should be to take advantage of the massive difference in odds starting out and hedge your bets. You could actually put a small bet on Sri Lanka pre-match and then cover yourself with a bigger bet on Australia with an in-play bet. Sri Lanka will push Australia at different times in the match and that is when you must pounce.
Otherwise, keep it simple and bet on Australia from the very start. You will get shorter odds but you don't have to worry about the odds changing throughout the match.
Bet on Australia to win.
This bet is a part of the 'Betway Boost' and this is why the odds are so attractive. Sri Lanka's bowling has been quite toothless so far and both Finch and Warner are in good batting form. The odds available on this bet are just too good to pass on.
Gunathilaka bats aggressively and is going to go after the bowling. He is one of the few batters in Sri Lanka that has tried to put the pressure back on the Australian bowlers. We think he is in good touch and could get past 16.5 runs in no time. The Over/Under line seems quite low to us and that makes this an attractive bet.
