With the Indian Premier League round the corner, the focus is gradually shifting from other tournaments to the premier T20 tournament. One competition that hasn't lost its shine to IPL yet is Women's World Cup 2022, which is poised beautifully at the moment. Australia Women have already qualified for the semi-final and the competition now remains between the five teams to grab the three remaining slots.
Up next in the competition, South Africa Women are set to take on West Indies Women in what is going to be an important match from the standings and qualifications point of view. The match between the two sides is to be played at the Basin Reserve, Wellington on 24th March 2022. The winner of this match will certainly make their chances stronger and we expect both sides to come out all guns blazing. A cracker of a contest is certainly on the cards.
South Africa Women have so far certainly punched above their weight and are the prime candidates to get to the next round out of the sides that haven't qualified yet. A win here will see them through to the next round and that is exactly what they will be aiming for. Apart from that, their win would also immensely benefit India Women and Indian fans will definitely cheering for them her in this match.
South Africa Women didn't have a particularly good time before the tournament started but they have been absolutely brilliant ever since the World Cup has started. They are second on the ladder with four wins from five matches. Along with the eight points they have, they also have a pretty respectable net run rate of 0.092, which could prove to be useful if they end up losing this upcoming contest.
On paper and otherwise, South Africa Women have an excellent side that covers all bases well, thanks to the battery of all-rounders. In addition to that, most of their players have been playing to perfection and that could play a huge role in matches that matter. The upcoming one is one such match and the Proteas Women will want to be at their best. Given the side they have on paper, all they would need is to play to their potential and if they are able to do that, getting past them is going to be extremely difficult.

West Indies Women pleasantly surprised one and all by getting off to a terrific start in this tournament, winning both of their first two matches. Their wins came over pre-tournament favorites like England Women and New Zealand and just when they were looking set to sail through to the semis, they lost two matches - both by massive margins respectively.
As it currently stands, West Indies Women are placed at the fourth spot and will need to really get going in this upcoming match. They have six points to their name, same as India Women but given their poor net run rate, they would really want to register a win in this upcoming contest.
On paper, Windies have a well-balanced side on paper but a bit of over-reliance on a couple of all-rounders is well and truly apparent. They won when their stalwarts fired and lost when they didn't. This is the same scenario that they would want to avoid facing against the Proteas. Having said that, the Windies have defeated the likes of New Zealand Women and England Women already and would now about their capabilities. They would need to play out of their skins here as well and if they are able to do that, getting past them could prove to be incredibly difficult.

This is an important match in context of qualifications and both sides are likely to come out hard at each other. Given how the two sides have played and the recent on-paper combinations of the two sides, South Africa Women seem ahead. Also, West Indies Women have increasingly struggled as the tournament has progressed, which tells volumes about the direction they are heading towards. Comparing all that and the other factors stated above, a bet on South Africa Women should be the way to go here.
