Bangladesh's batting is just not strong enough and it always seems like a collapse is close by. Fargana Hoque, Nigar Sultana, and Rumana Ahmed are probably the three best batters in the Bangladeshi lineup at the moment. They have talent and can play cameos but the lack of big scores from them is concerning.
We don't think either one of these batters would make it into the Australian Women's team right now.
The bowling attack for Bangladesh is spin-dominated. Unless the wicket starts to take a lot of spin (which is unlikely at the Basin Reserve), Bangladesh's bowling is going to struggle to make any impact. Jahanara Alam and Nahida Akter have been the two most impressive bowlers for Bangladesh in this World Cup.

Australia is unbeaten in the ICC World Cup 2022 edition and has also broken the world record for the most consecutive wins chasing. The Aussies have been pushed on more than one occasion but they have managed to come up trumps every single time.
Rachel Haynes and Meg Lanning are leading the batting effort with excellent cameos from Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, and Elyse Perry as well.
The flat batting surfaces are really suiting Australia and their batters are just crushing bowling attacks every single time they come into bat.
The bowling lineup for Australia has so far escaped scrutiny but it has not been most impressive. It has allows batters from England, India, and South Africa to post big totals. Wicket-taking has been a problem and the runs have also flowed quite freely when Australia has bowled.
The fact remains, though, that Bangladesh is unlikely to have the batting strength to take advantage of this potential chink in the Aussie armor.

There is some rain around in Wellington right now but the forecast does get a bit better on match day. We think it is likely that a few interruptions will be there, however, the match should be able to be played out. The batters will love the flat and even-paced surface at the Basin Reserve. The outfield is also pretty fast and will provide full value for the shots.
