Match prediction and IPL betting tips for RR vs KKR IPL 2022. The match is going to be played at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on the 18th of April 2022.
RR had to play without Trent Boult in the previous match and that seemed to make a major difference. Jimmy Neesham was not able to provide the early breakthroughs that RR has been getting this season. If Boult is available for this match, it will be a huge boost for RR.
bowling has been a revelation this season and the matchups seem to favor them once more. R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal have a good record against Aaron Finch, Nitish Rana, or even Andre Russell. These 8 overs from the RR lead spinners could be decisive in this match.
Kuldeep Sen could be a weak link, though, as he showed that he still has a lot of work to do and learn the art of death bowling.
Jos Buttler dominated the batting stats for RR and his presence is going to be crucial. RR lacks a bit of batting depth that some of the other teams possess. Also, Devdutt Padikkal has not had the kind of start he would have expected and Sanju Samson is going through a dry run.
This puts pressure on Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, and the all-rounders. We also think the use of R Ashwin as a floater in the lineup is a good idea but they could maybe choose another player more suited to play aggressive cricket.
From a betting point of view, we would focus on Yuzvendra Chahal to pick up the wickets and Sanju Samson to score runs.

KKR suffered a pretty comprehensive defeat against SRH in the previous match, it's second in a row and is now sliding into the middle of the table. KKr has had a number of problems in IPL 2022 so far. Its opening lineup is unsettled and we don't think the choice of Aaron Finch is necessarily the best one.
He has historically been very unpredictable and we would advise betting against him in most matches. Venkatesh Iyer is also going through a poor phase and that puts pressure on the batters that follow. Shreyas Iyer can expect a short-ball barrage whenever he comes in after being peppered by Umran Malik in the previous match.
Nitish Rana and Andre Russell are in good form but they could struggle against the quality RR spinners. We are not too confident about KKR's batting prospects in this match.
The bowling lineup also has some big concerns. Pat Cummins has an economy rate of over 12.00 so far and Varun Chakravarthy is coming into this match on the back of one of his worst performances. Umesh Yadav is an excellent powerplay wicket-taker but he can be expensive too.
Sunil Narine is the one player that you can back on to slow down the runs but teams can try to play him out without losing too many wickets.
KKR has a lot of questions to answer in this match and that adds a lot of uncertainty to an already uncertain format.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. The effect of the dew has been mitigated by the use of anti-dew sprays being used later than before but teams still want to chase. The last four matches have seen two matches being won by the team batting first and two by the chasing team.

The conditions are expected to be very similar to what we have seen so far. Brabourne is one of the best venues for batting and these are two strong batting teams. We could see a match where both teams get north of 170 each. Of course, spin has started to play a role at most venues and that is not going to be any different now.
