IPL 2022 continues to astound in every match and one look at the table will show that the mega-auction has hit all the teams massively. The two newest teams to join the IPL are currently in the top-3 while the traditional heavyweights are languishing at the bottom.
This is the reason that the Mumbai Indians are being offered as the underdogs by all the leading IPL betting sites in its upcoming contest against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
RCB has gotten off to a good start with two wins out of three while MI has lost its first three matches.
Match prediction and IPL betting tips for RCB vs MI IPL 2022. The match is going to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on the 9th of April 2022.
RCB won its previous match against RR thanks to a couple of tremendous performances from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed. They helped the team recover from 87 for 5 to eventually chase down 170 with almost an over to spare.
RCB's bowling was quite good in that match as David Willey and Harshal Patel bowled very tight lines while Hasaranga asked some tough questions as well. One concern would be the lack of wickets from Mohammad Siraj. He is the seniormost seam bowler in the team but has struggled to get the early breakthroughs.
RCB's batting also looked a bit shaky. Faf du Plessis is the only top-order batter in form as Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, David Willey, and Sherfane Rutherford continue to struggle. Dinesh Karthik has been playing the role of a finisher with brilliance but can you really expect to bail the team out every single time?
It will be interesting to see who makes way for Glenn Maxwell in this match. We think Sherfane Rutherford could be the one that misses out but RCB may have a surprise in store.

MI was struck by an absolutely brilliant inning from Pat Cummins in its previous match. There are occasions when the team just has no answers and that was one of those occasions. We think MI would do well to focus on some of the positives from the previous match.
Dewald Brevis looked fit to play at this level as he impressed on his IPL debut and Kieron Pollard seemed to be getting in some kind of form. We thought it was very harsh on Tim David to be dropped just after two innings and expect him to be brought back in place of Daniel Sams.
The obvious choice of replacement is Jayadev Unadkat, another left-arm seamer that has had a lot of success at the ground in Pune in the past.
Rohit Sharma has been out of form and Ishan Kishan is also struggling to get the quick starts. Still, the return of Suryakumar Yadav and the continued brilliance of Tilak Varma give MI the edge.
Tymal Mills and Jasprit Bumrah are dependable in any situation but the same cannot be said of M Ashwin, Basil Thampi, or Daniel Sams (if he plays). The decision to invest in Jofra Archer even when he is not playing this season could prove to be a big problem for MI.

The conditions in Pune have started to become a bit tricky for batting. We saw the wicket behave a bit slow in the first inning of the previous match after which it started to get a bit better. The spinners could come into the game and start playing more of a role. The dew does not play a big role at this venue although it is not completely absent either.
We think a score of around 170 should be seen as par.

We are going to bet on the Mumbai Indians to win. This has been an IPL of upsets where the underdog has managed to surprise on more than a few occasions. MI is just getting its best eleven together now that Suryakumar Yadav is back and we think it should be able to get its first win of the season.

Brevis is not one of those players that lacks in confidence. he is going to go out there and play his shots. As a result, he is going to go past 17.5 in a flash if he spends any significant time at the crease. We think he will continue to bat 3 and is good player to bet on.
The odds are very good but this is obviously a very high-risk bet. We think with players like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Faf du PLessis, and even Glenn Maxwell in this match, the chances of a century being scored are definitely better than usual.
Faf du Plessis is the only real batter in the top order that has scored some runs. Glenn Maxwell is going to be back for this match but he can be a bit hit and miss so we are going to avoid him until we see what kind of form he is in. Du Plessis the best of the rest and that is we will take a chance on him.
