David Miller is in great form and could get a chance to bat for a fair amount of time in this match. This ground is built for someone like him who is so good at smashing sixes.

Chennai Super Kings roared once more as they demolished Punjab Kings in a comprehensive fashion and showed that they are not here just to make up the numbers. CSK is now going to be taking on the Rajasthan Royals as the IPL 2021 gathers momentum.
The Royals were bailed out of a difficult situation by David Miller and Chris Morris in the previous match. It will know that it may have got its first win on the board but it needs to improve to be able to make a serious run at the title.
The last few matches have been surprisingly low-scoring at the Wankhede and that is something that Rajasthan Royals could struggle with a bit more. Both teams have a drastically different approach to forming an ideal squad as CSK depends on experience while RR backs youth.
Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals IPL 2021 is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on the 19th of April 2021.
CSK put in a fantastic performance in the previous match led by the brilliance of Deepak Chahar with the new ball. At his best, Deepak Chahar was able to get wickets inside the powerplay with clockwork precision which would always put the opposition on the backfoot.
A lot of teams are top-heavy with their batting lineup and a couple of early wickets set them back. If Chahar can do the same against Rajasthan Royals then he will give his team a great chance of winning.
Sam Curran bowled well but was helped by Chahar taking all those wickets at the other end. Also, Shardul Thakur was quite poor and needs to improve. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Dwayne Bravo give CSK a lot of options while bowling but this is not the most dangerous of attacks in good batting conditions.
Earlier, Deepak Chahar’s wickets in the powerplay used to be a bonus but now they are a must.
The batting lineup for CSK is also just finding its feet. Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, and Moeen Ali have all scored runs but the only one who has really looked fluent is Moeen Ali. We would love to see Ambati Rayadu bat in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad but that is not likely to happen any time soon.
Still, we think CSK’s batting lineup should be quite comfortable against the Rajsthan Royals bowling unit.

The Rajasthan Royals were lucky to end up on the right of the result against Delhi Capitals in the previous match. They made quite a few mistakes but were saved by the brilliance of two of their overseas players.
The batting order looks a bit thin to us at the moment especially because Jos Buttler is not scoring runs. Manan Vohra has been around in the IPL for a decade but has never really done anything of note for an extended period of time. Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag in the middle-order are playing on promise rather than performances.
This puts the onus of runs on Sanju Samson and David Miller followed by cameos from Chris Morris. Samson always seems to score runs against CSK while Miller has also played some spectacular knocks against CSK when he was with Punjab.
The loss of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer has compromised the bowling attack quite a lot. Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya, Jaydev Unadkat, Chris Morris, and Rahul Tewatia do not form a great bowling unit.
We can easily see this bowling attack go for a lot of runs and that is why we worry about the Royals ability to be consistent. They are dependent on brilliant individual performances to win rather than the innate strength of their team.

The toss seems to be quite important in Mumbai as three out of the four matches have been won by the team that has chased. Take this into account when you are placing your bets. We think the captain that wins the toss is going to continue to want to bowl first.

The wicket at the Wankhede has been quite deceiving in the previous few matches. It started off being a very high-scoring venue but the last two matches have been quite low-scoring in both innings. Players have called the surface a bit tacky underneath the grass and that offers some help to the bowlers.
We still think the previous two matches were a bit of an aberration because of some outstanding new ball performances. The par score for Wankhede is still around 170-180.

Chennai Super Kings should have Lungi Ngidi and Jason Behrendorff available for this match but who they will replace is unclear. Dwayne Bravo looks like the one overseas player that can be swapped out but Dhoni likes to have him around. CSK may also not want to change a winning combination.
Rajasthan Royals are a weakened team without two of their best bowlers and one of their best batsmen. We think their batting lineup is suspect and the bowling can be taken for a lot of runs.
