Two teams that are looking to start off their Caribbean Premier League campaign better in 2021 than last time are the Barbados Royals and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

With a new name, comes new players like Glenn Phillips, Thisara Perera and others, and even a great coach in Daniel Vettori. This should significantly help bolster their lineup and potentially give them some more strengths to play of off.
Daniel Vettori, while a sharp cricket mind, does not strike us as a coach that is able to take your team to the heights needed to win the CPL.
In addition, we feel their batting lineup is a little skinny, with much of the responsibility will be falling on Glenn Phillips to make for high run rates.
Shai Hope, Azam Khan, GD Phillips, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, Thisara Perera, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh, Mohammad Amir, Oshane Thomas.
Although they ended up dead-last last season, lots have happened since that time, namely them acquiring the two biggest stars of Caribbean cricket: Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo. These two should inspire plenty of players on the side, not to mention the runs they will provide themselves.
The batting lineup looks very solid here, and although bowling is a little lacking, but Cottrell and Ahmed are sure to be solid for them here.
Injuries are also a concern with a couple of veteran players on their side, but none reported so far, so we expect them to get off to a great start here.

This early in the season we definitely think that St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are favored to get the win. No injuries, strong batting lineup and facing a thin bowling squad should do the trick. If they can start gunning early, I expect them to rack up too much a lead for the Royals to chase - and the chasing potential of the Patriots is immense.
