Auckland Hearts and Canterbury Magicians are going to be playing against each other twice on successive days and we are really excited for that to happen since these are the two best teams of the Hallyburton Johnstone ODI Shield.
They have the strongest batting lineups and are in great form. In fact, this could very well the contest we are looking at in the final a couple of weekends from now!
Auckland Hearts vs Canterbury Magicians Hallyburton Johnstone ODI Shield 2021 is going to be played at Eden Park, Outer Oval on the 14th of March 2021.
The three batters to watch out for in the Auckland Hearts lineup are Down, Perkins, and Kelly. They have the most runs, the best average, and hit boundaries the most number of times.
The opening partnership is the one thing that the Auckland Hearts need to sort out but apart from that, their batting looks to be in very good form.
Prasad and Jonas are going to be leading the bowling attack. There is a bit of a dropdown after these two in terms of quality, though, and the Hearts will want to be careful not to give away too many runs.
Saachi Shahri, Lauren Down, Arlene Kelly, Katie Perkins, Holly Huddleston, Anna Peterson, Bella Armstrong, Regina Lili'i, Jesse Prasad, Tariel Lamb, Fran jonas.
The Canterbury Magicians are not short of batting strength either. They have KE Ebrahim with 442 runs to her name and FL Mackay with 244 to her name in the lineup as well. These players have shown themselves to be capable of hitting the big scores and making it count when they get in.
Amy Satterthwaite is expected to be available for the knockout stages but it is not yet certain if she will play this weekend.
Armusson, Savage, Sullivan, Mackay, Simmons, and Sims all form a part of the bowling lineup that certainly has a bit more depth than the Auckland Hearts.

We think the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first and set a big enough total to basically bat the other one out of the game.

The conditions in Auckland are expected to be excellent for cricket. There is no rain predicted this weekend and the pitch is going to be flat as well. Eden Park does have a bit more bounce in it these days and that generally translates to better batting conditions in women’s cricket.
The Auckland Hearts have a slight edge in terms of batting depth and this is why we are backing them to win.
