The Hallyburton Johnstone Shield 2020-21 is going on and it will be closely watched by cricket nuts. This is the tournament that serves as the premier ODI competition for the White Ferns and so aspiring players are well rewarded for their performances.
The next match is between Wellington Blaze and Otago Sparks.
Wellington Blaze vs Otago Sparks Hallyburton Johnstone Shield 2021 is going to be played at the Basin Reserve, Wellington on the 13th of March 2021.
The batters to watch out for in this team are JT McFadyen, RM Burns, and CR King. McFadyen is the best batter out of all of them by far and is the only player that managed to hit a century in this edition of the tournament for Wellington Blaze.
McFadyen has 371 runs to her name and will be hoping to add more in this match.
Among the bowlers, KM Chandler and BC Molony lead the wicket-taking charts with 9 wickets each. Chandler even has a five-wicket haul in this tournament. The most economical bowlers, though, are Singh and Kerr and they will have an important job in keeping the pressure on the opposition.
Jessica McFadyen, Sophie Devine, Maddy Green, Amelia Kerr, Leigh Kasperek, Jess Kerr, Thamsyn Newton, Georgia Plimmer, Xara Jetly, Bethany Molony, Maneka Singh.
The Otago Sparks have a weaker batting lineup than Wellington Blaze. CG Blakely is the leading scorer with 242 runs to her name while PM Inglis, IR James, and KJ Martin all have over one hundred runs to their names as well.
Martin is the best batter in the side and will have to shoulder the bulk of the responsibility. She also has a century to her name and is currently averaging 62 with a strike rate of 97.64. Those are some impressive figures.
Among the bowlers, EJ Black and EJ Carson have had the most impact with ten wickets each to their names. Both of them have managed to pick up wickets in most matches and have been quite economical as well. SA Oldershaw is the other bowler in this lineup to watch out for.
Bella James, Saffron Wilson, Hayley Jensen, Caitlin Blakely, Katey Martin, Olivia Gain, Polly Inglis, Eden Carson, Emma Black, Molly Loe, Marina Lamplough.
The Basin Reserve is an excellent batting venue on most occasions. There is no rain and so the conditions should not change much. We think batting first is the option that teams will look for but that should not be seen as a huge advantage.

The weather conditions are good for cricket and the pitch at the Basin Reserve usually favors the batters. We see no reason why that will be dramatically different for this match. A score of around 250-260 should be seen as par.
Neither team has been in good form in this tournament and has struggled to get the results their way. While Wellington Blaze has won two matches, Otago Sparks are still looking for their first win of the tournament.
Bet on Wellington Blaze to win.
