With three wins out of six matches, the Auckland Aces have a real shot of fighting for a playoff spot. The Otago Volts have won just one match out of the eight that they have played. They have looked far short of the level shown by the other teams and have been rated the clear underdog by all leading cricket betting sites for this match as well.

The Aces are going to be without Martin Guptill who picked up an injury in the tournament, and Mark Chapman did not play the previous match.
Still, the presence of George Worker and Glenn Phillips does give the batting a lot of power with some useful players down the order to chip in as necessary. Lockie Ferguson made a comeback into the playing eleven and is expected to lead the bowling attack once more. His presence gives the Auckland Aces a definite edge in this contest. The team does seem to have a decent lineup on paper with players like Rutherford, Kelly, Kitchen, and Broom in the playing eleven but the performances have just not been there. The Otago Volts will be hoping for a strong end to the tournament but to expect something different from the same set of players that have failed repeatedly this season seems to be a bit short-sighted.
Kitchen, Duffy, and Bacon lead the bowling lineup for the Otago Volts. This is a dependable but average bowling attack. For this lineup to win matches for the Otago Volts is rare and so it is the batting that will have to step up.

There is a bit of rain predicted in Auckland on match day but for the most part, we should have a nice day on which to enjoy some cricket. Eden Park is one of our favorite venues for cricket. It has comically small boundaries but the pitch has acquired some real life in recent seasons and that ends up evening out the contest. There may be a lot of runs scored in one match but the bowlers could end up dominating the next one. As a chasing side, you are never really going to feel comfortable defending a total at Eden Park.
We are going to bet on the Auckland Aces to win. We do think that they have a stronger batting lineup even without Martin Guptill available for selection. Glenn Phillips showed us a glimpse of why he is rated so highly across the world and he could end up being the difference in this match as well.
