RESCUED:The crew of H2O Eleanor being rescued by a British PBY. Returning from a mission they were jumped and shot down. The pilot, Lt Bob Murray, managed to ditch the plane in the Bay of Bengal west of Foul Island. Despite the notoriously poor ditching characteristics of the B-24, all but one crewmember survived.
