Veterans' Grave Markers

Gravestone of John D. Laughlin, Company B,

at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division,

Martin County, Indiana

The Graves of the 27th Indiana project will attempt to list the burial place of every member of the regiment. I will also post as many photos as I can find of the graves. If the letter is listed below and there is no photo of the soldier you are looking for, I do not currently have that grave photo. The soldiers listed below, as well as all soldiers of the 27th Indiana, can also be found in the service records file. Just go to that soldier's company for his record. If the soldier's name is highlighted below, a picture of him is available in the album when you click the highlighted name. If you cannot access the larger photo when you click on it, I have run out of server space and temporarily cannot provide the larger photo. E-mail me and I will be glad to send it to you.

The success of this project depends on the great folks that have made the regimental album such a success. A Special Thank You to Dave Maryfield, a descendant of Company I's Gabriel Maryfield, and Tim Rathbun who have contributed a great deal of these photos and have researched many of the soldier cemeteries. IF YOU HAVE A PHOTO OF A VETERAN OR HIS GRAVE NOT LISTED IN THIS SITE, PLEASE SEND A COPY TO ME (digital via email or any copy via snail mail). Even if you do not have a relative from the regiment, you may be living near a gravesite and could help contribute. Many have already done so which makes this site a valuable place for researchers. Hope you enjoy this project.
