Richard B. OLNEY was born on MAY 12 1915. I have corresponded with Mr. Richard B. Olney 2 times so far in 1995. Once by letter and once by phone on 6/19/95. From the information that he sent to me by letter, I then sent him the information that I had from the beginning of the Dunbar line through all known descendants. I asked for more info. by letter and also sent him a b/w exc. copy blown-up of his great-grandmother Nancy Rice, and a b/w exc. copy of Ben and wife Dunbar. Also sent ck for $15 or 20.

Phone call: He said that it would be 3-4 weeks before he could get to making the copies that I requested because he is going to be out of town. Called to let me know there would be a time delay. He said that he would send a xerox copy of the tintype, and a xerox copy of the copy of the tintype, but that he would not have a negative made because the tintype was in poor shape and wouldn't come out well and that it would be too expensive to get into proper shape to make a negative. He said that the photographer that made the negative did not give him the negative. He said that he would comply with sending items 1-7 that I requested, but that the Ageton history was confidential and he would not send me more information than he had already given me. Said that his father was Walter Olney and that he died when he was 3 years old. Said that the Ageton name was rare among the Norwegians, and that most of the families with like names were named Agesson (or like that) on arrival to America. His grandfather's family was one of the rare ones retaining name of Ageton and probably most families with this name are related.

In the lineage notes that he gave to me May 22 1995, he left out those sections that pertained to his grandmother Sarah E. Dunbar Ageton. On p.21 he notes that she suffered difficult periods in her life, and the next 3 pages are missing. It is perhaps this information that he prefers to be left confidential. In the summer of 1930, Richard spent 1 month with the Christopher & Lucy Judge family, where he also met his great Aunt Mary Judge who was then almost 95.
