Matt Drayton ..... Foxboro, Massachusetts

Matt is a graduate and football star of the University of New Hampshire. He went on to
become an EMT and a Wilderness EMT and has worked extensively in the field of
outdoor education. Accomplished in the areas of bicycling, rock climbing and white
water canoeing, Matt is leading the East-to-West Team across America in honor of his
grandmother, Ruth Drayton.
 

Jamie Purdy ..... South Berwick, Maine

Jamie is a student at the University of New Hampshire and has always been interested in athletics. In 1977 in South Berwick, Maine, Jamie received the best female athlete award and claimed three track and field records. She is an avid rock-climber, runner, biker, and enjoys falling asleep in fields full of daisies! Jamie is cycling on the East-to-West Team in honor of all those who have Parkinson’s Disease.
 

Ed Lanigan ..... Needham, Massachusetts

Ed graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Anthropology. He is an avid cyclist
and rock climber and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. Ed is cycling on the
East-to-West team in honor of a family friend who was effected by Parkinson’s Disease.
 

Becky Howland ..... Albany, New Hampshire

Becky graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Outdoor/Experimental Education. She is an EMT, a Wilderness EMT and has completed an internship at SOLO, a leading school for wilderness medicine. Becky is member of the ski patrol at Beaver Creek, Colorado and also enjoys sports such as biking, running, rock climbing, and kayaking. Becky is cycling on the East-to-West Team in honor of her grandfather.
 

Doug Shrack ..... Columbia, Maryland

Doug is an Eagle Scout and has a degree in Elementary Education. He is a Wilderness First Responder and has taught both kayaking and hang gliding. To keep in shape Doug rock climbs daily! He is cycling on the East-to-West Team in honor of  his paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother who both had Parkinson’s Disease.
 

Andrea Zeger ..... Roseland, Virginia

Andrea is a graduate of Penn State University and has a degree in Animal BioScience.
She is an outdoor enthusiast and has taught inline skating, sport climbing, hang gliding
and snowboarding. To Andrea, exercise is "addictive". She is cycling on the East-to-West Team in honor of her father, who died of cancer. Andrea says "I want to make a difference and whether its Parkinson’s or Cancer, to me the distinction is irrelevant."
 

Donna Kos ..... Akron, Ohio

Donna has a Master’s Degree from The University of Akron and is a member of  the
Akron Area Parkinson’s Support Group. She is a strong and outspoken advocate for
Parkinson’s Disease research. An enthusiastic bicyclist, Donna is leading the
West-to-East Team in honor of her father.
 

Kent Johnson ..... San Diego, California

Kent is a 16-year-old student at The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California where he will begin his senior year in the Fall of 1999. Kent is both an Eagle Scout and an avid
bicyclist. During the summer of 1998 he completed a 3600-mile cycling trip across
America from Seattle, Washington to Washington, DC. Kent also enjoys wilderness
camping, hiking, white water rafting and canoeing. As a "team of one", Kent will bicycle
the North-to-South route along the Continental Divide Trail. He is riding in honor of his
Uncle Bob Johnson, who has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
