Tlachtga, Goddess of the thunderbolt spear, was daughter to the druid, Mog Ruith. She created the pillarstone of Cnamchaill which killed all who touched it, blinded those who saw it and deafened those who heard it. She gave her name to the Hill of Ward near Athboy in Co. Meath, which is where the ceremonial Samhain fires were kindled. She is the matron of hidden knowledge and all those who receive sudden revelation.
