-----After sorting himself out, Sol returns to the bones. Removing his own blade, he sheaths the Lathanian blade in its place. Bending down he removes any tattered rags from the skeletons that look like they won't fall apart immediately. He then proceeds to carefully wrap and tie the ancient cloth around his original sword.
-----Raven shrugs, "All I care about a weapon is that it makes killing things easier. If magic helps kill things even easier, I'm all for using it."
-----Raven taps the hilt of his new sword. "Yep, having a charmed weapon is good."
-----Raven pulls out his canteen and takes a long drink. Raven puts the canteen away and then says, "Well now that we stopped these monsters, shall we head for the witches lair? I bet Sol wants to break in that 'magnificent specimen from the ancient Lathanian Empire'." Raven gives Thalog a good-natured smile.
-----Thalog nods to Sol's request. He turns to Sarah and says, "Mistakes in the past have put us in opposition to each other. I would like to apologize and start anew. Do you agree?"
-----The party heads toward the east end of the ruined village and descends the hill. There they gather their horses and mount up. Raven then leads them back up the hill.
-----Crossing the overgrown and deserted village, they ride across toward the large house. Once again the windows of the old dwellings reveal nothing from the shadowed interiors within. Even though most of the horrors have been reduced to piles of bones, some of the adventurers nervously turn from side to side watching for anything unexpected.
-----Just off to the left of the big house, Raven dismounts and checks the ground. After a few moments, he indicates to the others there are tracks leading off to the northeast.
-----Minutes later, the party descends the hill on its northeastern side, happily leaving the ruined structures behind. Now, two hours after high noon, it is the warmest part of the day. The temperature remains cool and the sky is still very cloudy. A gentle breeze flows through the blooming branches of the trees. All around them are wooded hills.
-----As they steadily move up another incline, Zentil rides beside Raven with a puzzled look on his face. "The white dog we saw earlier, the one you seemed to know, what happened to it?" he finally asks.
-----Suddenly the elf stops and points in the tall grass on up the hill. Raven pauses and stares. A few tense moments pass before the party sees something low to the ground moving with a slight bobbing motion away from their position.
-----As it crawls across an exposed rock, everyone can see it is the legless corpse that Amythiel turned earlier.
-----Raven shrugs, "I don't know where the dog came from. He also leads us to where we can do some good. Very strange..." Raven looks to where Zentil pointed. "Ah, our good friend is going out for his daily drag." Raven turns to Amythiel, "Where do these monsters go when your god turns them? Do they return to who created them?" Raven waits for her answer.
-----Amythiel watches the thing crawl along. She replies to Raven, "No, they usually flee the area of the one who turned them. I suppose there are always exceptions."
-----Zentil speaks up, "Should we go ahead and destroy it? Theres not any need to try to follow it, is there?"
-----"This is all very peculiar..." Sol grumbles..."but I suppose it isn't a good idea to leave crawling corpses to have their way." He draws the new blade from its scabbard. He gives the blade a quick look before commenting, "Of course, you could always shoot it full of arrows."
-----Raven says to Sol, "Lets give that new sword of yours a try." Raven urges his horse toward the skeleton. When he gets twenty feet from the skeleton, he gets off his horse and waits for Sol to finish the skeleton off. He also watches the area for any trouble.
-----Sol approaches the crawling horror and the thing turns over and sits up to face him. It draws forth its own corroded sword. The ancient weapon in Sols hand strikes out with lightning quickness at the armed undead. The skeleton tries to parry the attack from harming it, but Sols attack is so forceful, it knocks the sword from its hand.
-----Sols new weapon is a blur as it arcs up and back down at his foes head. The blade cleaves neatly through the skull splitting the metal of the helmet and the skinless bone. With the fierce blow, a cloud of dust rises up from the thing in its final moment of undeath. As Sol steps back, the others can see that most of the remains are now nothing more than a grayish powder dusting the old armor.
-----Zentil looks with wide green eyes and a slightly opened mouth. He then slowly begins to nod his head.
