-----In another quick motion, Raven’s short sword comes into view taking the downed monster’s head and finally destroying it. Looking up at Sol, Raven quickly mutters, "Sorry." He then yells back at Amythiel and Thalog, "One of you look after Zentil. He’s been hurt!"
-----Raven then turns back standing beside Sol with Sarah behind him. The last four undead warriors are within striking range.
-----Sarah turns to Thalog and Amythiel and snaps, "Do something!"
-----"Alas, I too am without spells that can affect the bone-men, unless..." Thalog thinks for a moment and then starts to mumble under his breath as his right hand twists and writhes.
-----Raven says, "Come on Sol, let’s finish them off." Raven glances back to see how Zentil is doing. Raven then draws his attention back to the undead monsters. Letting out a low growl Raven swings his new sword right at the nearest skeleton's head....
-----The force of Raven’s blow rips down through the front of the oncoming monster. The armored skeleton stands before him slightly weaving trying to steady itself.
-----At the same time, Thalog approaches another of the advancing undead and points at it. A swooshing sound is heard as a jet of flame, maybe a half foot in length, shoots forth from his finger. The small flame quickly catches some of the tattered ancient cloth around the rusted armor afire. The undead creature appears not to notice it as the flames grow around its shoulder area.
-----A third monster directly faces Sarah and she flings a dart at it. The small projectile bounces with a dull ping off the armored plate around the thing’s chest.
-----To her left, Raven savagely weighs into the staggering undead before him. With a powerful thrust of his new weapon, the creature literally shatters and begins falling apart. Chunks of bone litter the ground at his feet.
-----Sol brings his weapon across another skeleton warrior in a diagonal descending motion. The sword sweeps across the armor tearing and ripping as it goes. The blow moves the skeleton almost off its feet.
-----Sarah flings two more darts at her opponent. The first one lodges itself between the hollows of the vacant eye sockets. The head of the undead is jerked back, but then it slowly looks back at Sarah. The second one she throws widely misses her target and the skeleton opens its jaws stalking her.
-----Just as the monster looks to strike at her, Raven is suddenly there. He crashes into the thing, neatly cleaving most of the upper right half of the monster away, its rusted weapon thuds to the ground.
-----Sol takes a powerful swing and misses. As he tries to recover, he notices his opponent’s weapon. The ancient long sword the thing bears looks remarkable compared to what the other undead are armed with. Its blade, though dulled in color with age, is not rusted like the others.
-----Suddenly the skeleton jerks the weapon around and jabs at the young man. It bites deeply just beneath Sol’s rib cage. Sol is badly hurt!
-----Sarah misses the skeleton with another dart as it turns to face Raven. Meanwhile the burning skeleton just barely misses Thalog with a swoop of its own weapon. By this time, Amythiel has reached Zentil and has been working to heal him.
-----Sarah throws two more darts at the one-armed thing before her. The first bounces harmlessly off its helmet, but the second one strikes the skeleton’s cheek so hard, it swings its head to the right. With a mighty jump, Raven brings his sword down on the thing’s head and its entire body collapses in a heap.
-----The flaming skeleton facing Thalog misses the mage with another sweep of its weapon. The fire has almost engulfed the monster. Thalog sees Raven’s hand strike out from the side cleaving the monster’s back bone in two. The thing falls to the ground in two flaming masses, its arms clutching at the air.
-----Sarah, looking to her left, sees the skeleton warrior about to descend on the bleeding Sol. In a quick, desperate move, she throws another dart at it. This time her dart strikes the creature below the nose area with so much force, it knocks the dead thing’s jawbone off. Sol, seeing the skeleton’s blade descends, pivots avoiding the strike. Now he gathers his strength and before the undead creature can recover, he swings his own sword over his head and down across the horror’s back. The snapping and crunching of the ancient bones herald the thing’s final demise. It lies still at Sol’s feet while the young man holds his bleeding side, panting.
-----Thalog, looking calmly at the burning thing at his feet, strikes at its skull with his staff. A resounding crack lets him know that the weapon found its mark. The arms that clawed the air relax and fall, burning with the rest of the carcass.
-----Zentil, now fully healed, rushes to Sol’s side. He helps to steady him and ease him into a sitting position. Amythiel follows and begins to look at the young man’s wound.
