-----In the next instant, Caranip releases her illusion spell and across the way, the bright flames vanish! What is revealed is the armored priest of Helator bending down beside Sol's prone form. The four hobgoblins that entered the flames look around for a moment in surprise.
-----Seeing her opening, Sarah casts her spell and waits breathless, hoping this may turn the tide. The hobgoblins continue to look about and suddenly they focus on the priest who is still kneeling, but this time appears frozen in place!
-----Just then the first two frogs reach across the enemy line. One amphibian goes for one of the hobgoblins near Sol and the priest. It widely misses the humanoid but startles it enough to distract it. A second frog bounds in and likewise misses its prey, but by now this begins a few moments of disarray.
-----A hawk suddenly swoops down from on high missing a helmeted hobgoblin, which growls in confusion.
-----The younger officer near the leader of the army looks almost in a sudden state of shock as he looks at what is happening. "Fall back, you fools!" the leader yells at the humanoids attacked by the strange animals. "Archers! Prepare to fire across the way!"
-----The cloaked man stands up and the way he maneuvers, he appears hurt. Still, he limps toward the frozen forms of Sol and the evil priest.
-----"MiLady!" Strolum says to Sarah, "Be takin' cover! They be meanin' to shoot our way!"
-----Thunder neighs angrily again, now able to see Sol. The stallion gallops forward to intercept the cloaked man. The steed rears close to Sol and the cloaked man backs up and draws a sword.
-----Dilton and Pil position themselves so they are covering Sarah and Marlexana. The two warrior casts wary glances at the mage unsure of the swirling starry motes about her.
-----Back down the hawk swoops, this time talons tearing into a hobgoblin's shoulder. The humanoid tries to battle itself free.
-----The last two frogs dive into the fray close to Sol. One of them delivers a fierce bite to a hobgoblin while the other rakes into hobgoblin hide with its claws.
-----"FEAR THE FURY OF THE RAGER!" Lovan shouts again and before him a dozen humanoids run from the line.
-----Thunder punches out with another hoof and strikes the cloaked man solidly in the chest. The man staggers back, but holds his ground for the moment.
-----Raven snarls as he yells, "Here comes your doom!" Raven rides full tilt to aid Sol.
-----Garrison rides just behind Raven, following the hunter as best he can. As the two ride, the hawk now has two of the hobgoblins on the run as the great bird of prey clutches at one humanoid and then the other drawing blood.
-----"Draw whips and morning stars!" the younger officer shouts at a group of foot soldiers near him. He then points toward Thunder and the approaching heroes on horseback.
-----Just then, Raven's horse draws up a few feet from Thunder and the Hunter catapults himself from the saddle, arms spread wide. He slams into the cloaked man and they both roll on the ground. Raven jumps up with both swords drawn. He looks down at the cloaked man who is sprawled unconscious on the ground in front of him.
-----Lovan quickly turns and runs toward his horse. He boosts himself into the saddle and turns to ride where Sol was last seen.
-----Thunder turns toward Sol and sees the magically held evil priest positioned over him. The stallion quickly rears and strikes the priest with his hoof. The priest's body falls over with a large dent to his chest plate.
-----The frogs continue to chase hobgoblin soldiers with two of the amphibians seeming to be more successful as they take down two soldiers violently.
-----Sarah now sits across the field still mounted on Marlexana and raises a slender wand. She aims carefully and intones the words, "No Nocto Nada". A grayish beam shoots forth from the wand and shines across the field at where Sol lays.
-----At that point, the leader yells from his horse, "Archers! Fire!"
-----Lovan holds his shield on his right arm as he rides. As awkward as it is, the priest avoids the strikes of at least a dozen arrows. Even though his horse is struck, it proves to be light scratches across its hide.
-----A hail of deadly arrows takes to the air sailing across to where the young mage and her guards wait. Arrows bounce off the starry shield that surrounds Sarah. Strolum takes a critical hit with an arrow to his chest while Dilton is wounded by three different missiles.
-----Sarah then replies with a fireball spell that blasts into the line of hobgoblin soldiers. The explosion echoes across the plains and sends hobgoblins into the air or thrown down forcefully to the ground. As the smoke clears, it looks as if the hobgoblin troop has been cut down to a little over fifty soldiers.
-----Off to the left, spirits rise as Sol is seen standing close to Garrison, Raven and Lovan.
